Ashoka, to put it bluntly, because the last map was a congested, shitty flood of rails and highways literally everywhere. Regulation will not only make things look nicer, but make room for more to build. Every highway placed, every BLOCK, wastes the space of another member’s ability to make their own builds.
Yesterday we had a case of someone building a highway (to be constructed as a bridge) and it had to extend over thousands of blocks because of its outline. We removed it due to the fact it was outlined weirdly and also because it was so big that would have caused for a loss of land that someone could be using, just as Zak put it.
In reality, highways weren’t made to connect one place from one another, instead they connected many places. They were made after cities and towns were established for a long time so that transportation might become easier. Mind you not everywhere in the world has a connection to a highway due to the fact that some places establish close in proximity to each other, but this should not be the way you want it to be because not only will it look better and feel more natural, we’ll be allowing other players so much more room to do what they want to with their cities and establish them since most people are building more larger cities in this map compared to the last map. You need to let places establish themselves first. It’s not that we’re necessarily even telling you no, we’re just saying dont bother since its way too soon to be worrying about it
So just so I know, can city mayors choose their own road style and have it change at a toll-booth like station between cities?
I wouldnt worry about that so soon
the m1 highway in australia is single lane for most of the way in my state, narrower than main streets
Cool story bro. Tell it again.
Hi i would like to become a PCBT builder please
I would be good because I can be fast and affective please note that
I can not be on this twent4seven but im more than happy to help where I can!
signed LewTGM
me and triciak made a train going from one city to another before it was approved by pcbt. can i get it approved plz?
We’ll see if it fits to be incorporated into the network. Judging by the size of cities on the map, I think the answer will be no.
Your request has been denied.
Hi,
I understand that you are currently not actively looking for a build team, but I am more than happy to lend a hand (informally) with the actual builds if I happen to be online when you are working on a project. Just /msg me and I’ll be over. I have helped a couple of guys (Amphi and Yoshi) with a few bits and pieces already, so I’m around if needed.
Cheers,
Purple
You’ve been more than helpful to me, I’m sure you’d be a great helper when we’re building.
Let me know when stuff starts happening i can help with, at the moment i can’t do anything as my pc is broke. However should be fixed within the next few days.
We’ve designed the initial layout and we’re slowly notifying town owners.
(Anyone on PCBT who does not have access to the Trello board, let me know)
For those who don’t know what Trello is (like myself yesterday), it’s a really cool site where members can collaborate on different projects (they call them organizations), using cards and lists. It’s been actually quite helpful and you can sign up here:
Octo - Did you have a link to the trello board, I can find it through search? Obviously I’m not a PCBT member, but can the rest of us view it?
Thanks,
VRA
I think its just for PCBT members, it doesn’t contain information that people outside of PCBT would find interesting. We will keep up updated on whats happening however. The board is private (Invite Only) so you can’t search it meaning if we were to allow people to see it we would have to invite everyone. I don’t know if it is possible to turn it public as i have never used Trello before.
Am i allowed to build the station in my town that will be connected to the network?
(If i am, what are the guidelines?)
Yes, you are. Please note that your stations might be modified to fit PCBT standards and build quality.
Trello boards can be turned public. but its just a pain in the ass to do.
