Not necessarily because the bukkit update for 1.7 didn’t take them long at all. But it probably will this time, they also have to get the documentation for bukkit developers.
according to their website, they are getting faster and faster. I think for 1.7 they had a recommended build in 10-20 mins of the release. Correct me if i’m wrong cos im not sure.
Keep in mind though that 1.7 introduced only two features - pistons and shears. With 1.8, there’s a new feature list the size of the bug list
