FTB Server - Installing Guide

We are on 4.3.7 It’s mostly stable. Only issue I have seen was our security doors. Those are gone for now. Any other issues?

And yes, 4.3.5 is more stable.

Something interesting I’ve noticed was in 4.3.6 this was in the changelog: “FIX: Rare crash on block render”. There are a few new features we’d miss out on, but we were only using red alloy wires anyway. I think we’re still getting the crashes, I’ll post one of the reports on the FTBCrash subreddit and see what they think.

I had a good laugh. I tried to download the FtB pack, and it gave me a notification once downloaded on Chrome saying: “These files will harm your computer! You may have downloaded files from this site before, but it may have been hacked. Instead of recovering this file, you should retry downloading it later.” With two options, “Hurt Me Plenty” and “Retry”.

I tried everything and can’t get it working anymore…

I’ll see if I can help you solve the problem if no one else has yet.

I can help too of course. Message me on Steam and I see it fast.

The FTB pack I have uploaded seems fine from my end. The only change you need to do is replace the AM2 Mod and config file. As long as those are in there, and the old ones are deleted, the pack should be good to go.

Check to see if you have the Animation API under “Mods”. If you don’t, then you need the whole pack once more. Ars Magica forced a few changes.

Working on an update now. Gonna try updating RotaryCraft, ReactorCraft, DragonAPI, ElectriCraft, GeoStrata, ExpandedRedstone, and Blood Magic.

Oh how I hate dealing with the ID conflicts this will cause. These mods are always the worst offenders (and AM2).

Sorry fatso, I think more engines will need lubricant…

Edit: Okay, I think I got it all. Please either use the Patch or get the full pack (same link as always-main post). I don’t think anything broke?

Edit 2: OH COME ON! Reika updated THESE SAME mods AS I UPDATED THEM. Look, version G for all but 1. That one is version Z. So WHILE I downloaded them…

Edit 3: Fixed and updated again. Thankfully, no IDs needed fixing.

Made a setup tutorial video. Editing now.

Done! You can add it into the original post if you want.

Not bad at all Octo. Though you claimed that Gregtech is what makes the game take so long to load… Yes, blame gregtech for everything…

Also, there is no point in having render distance further than “short” as the server is set to only allow that much.

We need to set up a starting gear thing for new players. Free DIM equipment and a few backpacks/bags. The game is hard enough without a good start.

Actually kyle I have to somewhat disagree. Tinkers makes it quite easy to get a good start (I’ve done a bit of singleplayer stuff)
I’d suggest giving them enough resources to make the smeltery and then leaving them to it.

Yea tinkers construct is a really strong starting mod. Easy to understand with books detailing the basics, early game double ore production and good tools/armour if your willing to mess with it.

That plus the fact that you can make alloys without any sort of machine, plus the highly customizable tools let’s it hold you over til you get near end game gear.

Just FYI, there is currently a stable-ish 1.7 pack, the Direwolf20 pack. I know I wouldn’t mind a reset, being an all-powerful, unkillable flying god spraying out diamonds everywhere gets boring after a while.

Let it be known there has already been discussion and debate over when and how to update FTB. Results are pending. Please stay tuned for any further broadcasts.

Yes, we may be doing a full change to 1.7 soon, but we need to do a bit of balancing and testing first. I already plan to move the current map to my computer so we can keep it up while working on the new version. I can host for 2-3 people at a time with my network speed…

Have I mentioned that our current server is SO much more stable since we upgraded the ram? We don’t even need to restart it like we did before. Once a day is what it’s set to now.
