Okay, so… I know there was talk of taking out the item frames in market because they ‘lagged’ the market, but the item frames are all gone, and the market is still laggy as balls. Can we pleaaasssee bring them back, my whole shop looks horrible! Makes everything look so unorganized and, ugh! Please? The item frames are not the problem. We never had the issue in old market. The issue is that we’re over an ocean, with flowing blocks everywhere.
Fuck yeah Kurry is a rebel
[move]FUCK YEAH! VIVA LA REVOLUTION![/move]
I feel like we need to delete all of the EXCESSIVE redstone blocks in the shops and all of the Redstone lamps etc tbh
I agree to both those suggestions. I think we should honestly just rework our market and move it AWAY from water.
the lag is caused by signs and item frames, as the minecraft client refers to them as entities, and as we already know entities cause much lag, so with all of the markets so close together, your client has to render many entities. Therefore, with the large number of signs there anyway, removing item frames will make little difference. However, flowing water does create some lag as well, but moving the entire market away from water, and adding item frames back in will make no difference. Call me a nerd, but I’ve done my research

Signs aren’t entities, they’re tile entities ;D .
And there is very little flowing water in the market, it’s all solid. The best way to de-lag the market would be to remove signs, chests and redstone, but then it wouldn’t be much of a market…
I think we should try nam’s market, and if that’s still laggy, make a new market with a similar design to the old one.
Another major issue is the positioning of shops. New players have 0 chance in the market, because they have to choose shops that are either high up or far away from the warp, this wasn’t really the case in the old market.
My question is. Why did we move from the old market?
My answer is: Nobody knows. Honestly I think it was an excuse to reset the market.
I agree with Spec’s question. Sure, we want everyone able to make a shop in the market, but with one of this size, sure, EVERYONE who wants a market can make it, but it screws over the chance of the majority getting business when 30 people are selling the exact same things, at varying prices. It should be like this realistically, I know, but it’s too much there. If we were to make a nee market, or go with another already made, I say it has to be at least half the size, if we want the market to feel less overwhelming. Like now, someone recently told me to go to Vaio’s shop. It took me half an hour, which is kinda crazy and all. Sorry if this looks like a rant!
small market = less people who can sell stuff, and more people who need to make OOMS, I think that a layout change would be a good idea, idk what to, but something that’s a LOT fairer
can someone take the caps out of the topic it’s very annoying?
I liked the old market. In the market, my shop had had 0 buyers, due to the layout. And I liked the spawn egg shop as well (but it needed magma cubes ) and just in general, the old market ha a better feel.
I’m not sure how that’s very annoying.
I agree Spec, we didn’t need to move in the first place. Nearly every single person has complained how laggy the market is and nothing is ever done. Removing item frames wasn’t the answer.
I’ve wondered the same thing since the new market. I don’t see what was wrong with old market. There was practically no lag, it was well spread out and easy to navigate. All we’ve had with this new one is problems. And I’m not bitching about it, but I am bitching about the horrible lag and all of the fuss that has happened since the new market.
I personally LOVED the design Nami had, no, not 'cause he’s my ‘hubby’, but because it was efficient and easy to navigate. It took me a total of 5 minutes to figure out where everything was. And even if we didn’t go with Nami’s layout, I’m okay with old market. Just my personal input. I just went to my shop, and seriously, if I didn’t know what item was where, I’d have a hard time shopping. And like mentioned above, new members have 0 chance of getting a good shop. I’ve never been to the top floors, and I doubt a lot of people have. Can something please be done or at least talked about?
Nam’s market was actually a very nice design. I think everyone was equal there. The problems with our current is that it’s the size of it is like freakin’ galleria mall (which we really don’t need), and some shops are hard to find with all these different little paths. When they said they were putting up a new market, I was wondering why, because the market had been perfect. But since we had to choose one, I choose Nam’s because of the functionality. Sure, this current market is kind of pretty looking, but the layout is bad to be honest, and there are many problems with the lag. Removing the item frames did nothing. Personally I think we should try another market, but that’s just my opinion.
I had to end up sharing a shop with panda because of how little people ever came to my shop on the second floor
Item frames do cause lag, but in the case of the market it didn’t affect it too much.
It is much more to do with all the redstone lamps constantly checking for updates in the charge around them.
And yes, I think a new market is needed, or at least the old one we had.
Alright, so… What does it take to get this shit done, should I set up a voting thingy?
I loved the design that Nam had for his market, not only was it huge and nice, but it wasn’t crazy laggy when several peeps moved in. I would personally like that one back, or even the old market. Either way is fine by me. I just want to buy stuff and not lag out.
