Windows violation error BSOD?

Okay so normally I’d ignore what just happened and keep mosying around on my PC, but this honestly came out of nowhere and scared the crap out of me.

Was just casually playing FF7 from Steam when suddenly my computer got a blue screen. I couldn’t quite make out exactly what it said before it dumped data and restarted itself, but I managed to see the words “Windows Violation” as the cause for the error.

Any idea what that means?

I just built this damn thing and I’ve taken measures to ensure I treat it better than I did with my old computer. So getting a blue screen frightens me as I really don’t want to go through the same things my old comp did.

From what I know about blue screens, as long as you don’t get another one after restarting, your computer is fine.

I had this happen to me while I was playing gmod a couple of months ago, but iv had no problems since.

you would need to gather more information about it, the search of windows violation alone seems to be based around windows 8 and ssd’s it seems.

ITs really nothing

Ive gotten a couple of those and my computer runs fine still.

Although it may erase applications from about 3 weeks ago and you will have to reinstall them. No big deal just a minor inconvenience

As you said Nek, these things can usually be ignored. The only time you should be concerned is if it happens more than twice. Essentially, it just means something is wrong and needs to be fixed at that point. Surprisingly, windows self repair is okay at fixing this.

A lot of the time, it’s caused by the game you were running. Very rare issue.

All right well it apparently happened again while I was at work and I managed to get the details. The only thing running was Chrome, Steam, and Skype.

If it’s still nothing then I’ll take your word for it, but the fact that it happened while literally nothing was running on my computer and I wasn’t touching it, is concerning.

May want to post this if possible if it has more information:

C:\Users\NekTM\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-16208-0.sysdata.xml

Do you use Wifi on that computer?

Its funny because thats all i had open when mine gave me the BSOD xD

It might be nothing still but click on apps and try to reinstall them. Sometimes when that happens, you might of installed something wrong or something was not verified properly.

Apps? Reinstall? On his PC, that could mean a lot of things.

More data on the error might help us, but overall, I still think its a random crash.

If it happens for the third time in a row, I’ll do my best to catch the blue screen info and post it here.

This computer I’m on has a direct connection to my router. Though my router has 4 slots for wired connections and it also has a secured wifi network.

Sorry for the confusion, Downloadable applications. Skype, Minecraft, Steam, Steam apps, ect. If it crashes again, i dont think any apps will uninstall if you backed up your computer

And it happened again.

“Windows Driver Framework” is what claimed to be the issue on the BSOD.

I did a little search and supposedly MotionJoy causes it? Both times I was using it when the Blue Screen happened.

Did some searches myself, and it is a driver issue. What is causing it is likely what you suspect it is. Other devices can be the cause too. You can probably reinstall it or better, update it.
