What happened to Jack and Jill on that fateful day they Tumbled down the hill

What Happened to Jack and Jill that fateful day

By: Sword
(none of this is true)

One day, Jack went to his friends house. This friend happened to be Jill! We all know the story:

Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water. Jack fell down, lost his crown. And Jill came tumbling after.

Well theres the part you did not know about. We all (most probably) assumed that they tripped or lost balance like uncoordinated people. Well that was part of the reason.

When Jack went up to the top of the hill to fetch a pail of water, he came face to face with Jack the Killer. Jack the Killer stabbed Jack in the neck. Therefore he “tumbled” down the hill. Jill did not notice this incident, and went up the hill after Jack. She came face to face with JtK (Jack the Killer) and she also met Jane the Killer. Jane tried to stop JtK from stabbing Jill, but she failed. JtK sucessfully stabbed Jill in the eye. So thats the story on why they tumbled down the hill. Theres more to the story, but it seems a little over the top.

Comment if you want to hear the rest of the story

Well this was different. I’m fine with hearing more of this version of the old rhyme. You know, it’s true that a lot of those old rhymes had a much darker meaning behind them.

It’s probably to do with cholera actually. They went to the well/pump and it was infected with cholera and they drank some, so they died and tumbled down the hill.

Ouhai’s theory sounds about right. “Ring around a rosies” was actually to do with the Plague. The “Ring of rosies (roses)” is actually referring to the spots or boils you got from it, which had a red ring around them. Then there is a line in it that is somthing like “achoo, we all fall down”. i.e. Plage > sneezes caused by it > fall down dead.

One of the few things I learnt from history in lower school…

Actually “pocket full of posies” refers to flowers/herbs carried to hide the smell of the sickness(boils)/ward off infection

Nice smelling flowers to make you smell better, but also used to ward of the plague via superstitious belief.

Spoiler alert. They all die.

Yeah I thought no one else knew. Let me explain each line:

“ring around the rosy” (The plague…)
“A pocket full of posies” (Flowers to stop dead people from killing other peoplez with their smells.)
“ashes, ashes, we all fall down!” (This speaks for itself doesnt it?)

And lol ouhai how straightfoward with that jack and jill thing. BTW sword, I totally wanna hear the rest.

Well that escalated quickly!!!

Posies were also used inside the Doctors Mask during this time period, for the same reason, but the mask was super creepy looking

Well you guys pretty much ripped that story apart…

RIGHT?! :stuck_out_tongue:

^that makes me wanna play Assassins Creed so bad now xD

^Right what I was thinking when i read that… with all those creepy medicine men… I know they wanted to hurt me.
