[VOTE] Donation Perks

The great restructuring of PCB (SMP) is upon us! Now is the time for community members to cast their votes and opinions on matters which will shape the gameplay of the server.

[size=16pt]Donation Perks
The added perks for donating to the community.

As the community is expanding and the server is progressively coming under strain, we are in need of donations to upgrade. We are currently looking to add incentives for donations in a variety of ways. The first thing to decide upon is the incentives. I have narrowed down a few possibilities which can be implemented:

1. Credits per $
For every dollar donated, the donor will receive ______ amount of credit.

2. Teleportation to death point
Donators will be able to teleport back to the point they died upon respawning.

3. Reserved slots
Donators will receive a reserved slot to the server. The way this functions is that no users will be kicked, but instead there are 2-3 slots (after the current 12) that are only accessible to donors.

4. Death item protection
Upon death, the donors items are stored safely in a protected chest next to their location of death.

5. The rest
A green title (if one does not have a colour already) and a [$] tag next to your name.

Additionally, a methods of gaining perks needs to be decided. The current trend seems to be to offer it in tiers. For example, if you donate $2.00, you will receive the death tp ability. If you donate $5.00, you will receive a reserved slot; and so on and so forth.

Should donator perks expire after _______ amount of time? Is there a specific tier which provides perks for the life of the server? etc

Please post your opinion on the matter and feel free to add any suggestions or critisism.

  1. What do you mean by Credits? The donator’s “control” of the server?

  2. Perhaps the availability to teleport back where he dies AND kills off the mobs surrounding that specific area(If possible, 'cause it’s useless to teleport back when you’re actually gonna die again.)

  3. I completely agree with this one, and perhaps this should be implemented on SOP+ as well?

  4. Again, I agree with this. Although it ‘spams’ the surroundings with these chests… What if the donator drowns in the sea? Will the chest be available under the sea? :S

  5. Instead of a $ sign, perhaps a Custom Title for them?

Oops! I meant to say iConomy money

Generally it’d be used for when you die from lava/drowning/falling/suffocation - but I see what you mean.

Considering it.

Chests can be set to “expire” after a certain amount of time. They also do not get placed on the exact point of death, but instead on the nearest “safe area”.

How about the ability to set a custom name/nickname? Need to keep ranks as easily recognisable and organised as possible.

  1. Credits per $
For every dollar donated, the donor will receive 1000 amount of iconomy money.

  2. Teleportation to death point
Heck yes. Other than credits, this is the first “power”.

  3. Reserved slots
Yes, but this should be a higher tier item.

  4. Death item protection
    Yes as well.

  5. The rest
custom name/nickname, they will likely need colors for easy rank identification. $ sign lacks tact I think.

For the tier system,
1 - 1 dollar
2 - 2 dollars
5 - 3 dollars
4 - 4 dollars
3 - 5 dollars
Bonuses last 2 months?
10 dollars for permanent bonuses.

Oh, and perhaps they can ask for a specific command that you can “sell” to them. That, or we can revise this later to reflect other bonuses.

I’m not one for expiring bonuses, but I will agree to a permanent bonus the higher someone donates.

The chest upon death is an absolute must as is the reserved slots.

Apologies for double post, but this must be brought to attention.

Apparently Donator’s can summon mobs as Shatcake showed me and insisted his rank his higher than an Op (lol?).

You may want to disable that Andy.

Oh, and you might want to edit the “perk” info when you click on the Donate button. It still talks of perks back on the old Creative server.
