Good News for anybody in the UK who uses Virgin Media broadband. Branson is preparing to boost the speeds again:

Download Speeds:
50 Mbps > 100 Mbps
100 Mbps > 200 Mbps
152 Mbps > 300 Mbps

Nothing announced regarding upload speeds but realistically should be doubled too. Rollout should be October according to the source.

In fact the speed upgrade has happened several times for me:

10 Mbps > 20 Mbps > 50 Mbps > 100Mbps

Great, apart from the systems round me never get upgraded. Never.

“Oh hey, your latest broadband package has these improved speeds! Buuuuut we’re not going to change any of the infrastructure so you’ll still have lower than the old package promised. kthxbye lol”

Just wait, rumour is that sky is planning to upgrade my area from 4Mbps to 5Mbps. Then you’ll be real jealous.
