Video Memory

I tried to run Europa Universalis 3 on my laptop today and it said I can’t play it because it needs 128mb of video memory. I checked my settings and it turns out I only have 64mb dedicated video memory. Is there any way to change this?

Chip type: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family DAC type: Internal Adapter string: Mobile Intel(R) GMA 4500M Bios information: Intel Video BIOS

Total available graphics memory: 797mb
Dedicated video memory: 64mb
System video memory: 0mb
Shared system memory: 733mb

your (laptop?) has 64MB of on-board ram but also uses 800MB of your normal ram, i think that the normal ram is slower when the card uses it but is there all the same. So in total it has the capacity to use all 800MB but the game is just checking the dedicated.

I have no idea if you can bypass the game checking just your cards dedicated ram and force it to use the shared ram as well, maybe google some sort of cracked .exe that allows you to do this?

But be carefull about downloading anything like that, can be very hazardous to your setup

Yes laptop, i said in the 1st post :stuck_out_tongue:

After searching their forums for a bit they have released a patch that allows you to play if the game sees your PC as not having enough VRAM because they were losing customers, so its all fixed.

Good to know! =D, and sorry about missing the laptop thing, skim reading is baaadddddd.

Umm, locked?
