Although I live in America, I wanted the United Kingdom to stay in the European Union, so they could still have control of trading to other countries. But, the UK’s trading buddies around the world (Japan, Germany, etc.) warned the kingdom that they wouldn’t be buddy boys with the UK, if the they left the Union.
Yesterday, I watched a YouTube video from SecularTalk. He explained the decision of the kingdom leaving the Union, and explained the kingdom’s potential outcomes from the people’s decisions.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6MPI0he78g
As me, Brooding, I think positively, and know that people can get through tough times. The people wanted the UK to leave the European Union, and now there a new leaf for the kingdom to start on. If Northern Ireland wants to leave the UK, I wouldn’t have a problem with that (I’m part Irish). Also, all the other claims from the UK can make any decisions they want. Hopefully, for the better.
Congrats on escaping the dumpster fire that is the EU, it’s gonna collapse in a few years anyway might as well jump ship first.
Because of the UK voting to leave. nicole surgeon (snp leader) has called for a 2nd referendum for independence of Scotland. Northen Ireland leader has also called for a referendum. This is not good.
Time to rebuild Hadrians wall. Scotland is already a leech dependent on handouts so who cares.
I’ve been hearing two theories of what will happen in the next couple years. (These are theories as of right now, I’m just repeating what I read, not speculating myself)
The first being that France and other EU countries will follow the UK’s lead, and leave the EU, until it collapses.
The other theory is that the UK will break apart, Ireland will be united, Scotland becomes independent, and joins the EU. If this happens, it is likely that other British territories, such as Bermuda will leave aswell.
Both theories are drastic, but entirely plausible. Only time will tell the answer.
Cameron might be a twat, but he’s done something sensible. By delaying Article 50 (the law that allows countries to leave) until October, if things go horribly wrong then it is possible for him, if supported by the country, to not actually leave. Had he invoked Article 50 right away then it could not be undone.
I really wouldn’t call the EU a dumpster fire. Generally it has been a success. If it does collapse, it will probably be us leaving that caused it. Also, if I remember correctly, during the independence referendum it was worked out that Scotland sends more in taxes to Westminster than it receives in funding, so it could succeed as an independent country.

All aboard the drama train!
Nicola Sturgeon (Scottish First Minister) said that she would tell Scottish MPs to refuse to give threir “legislative consent”. The referendum was non-binding, so it should have to go through Parliament. Scotland votes 62% remain, so she belives that vetoing it is in the interest of the Scottish people.
Iain Duncan Smith has said that they never said that Britain spends £350mil on the EU in total. Other remain leaders also claimed that they never said they’d use it to fund the NHS. However, this Vote Leave bus seems to disagree.
this has been discussed before during the first Scottish refferendum
It would also have knock on effects for other flags, for example Australia might scrap having the jack altogether and get some green and yellow on their flag.
Should there be a referendum, which is seeming most likely, it’s gonna be a definite yes. Most every no voter i know has changed to yes- large reason being, of course, the fact that they voted no to stay in the EU, which didn’t happen. Lots of them are also less supportive of the “right wing growth in England” but hey i dont give a shite the reason, so long as Sturgeon marches valiantly on westminster with her claymore and demands independence from whatever tory gets power.
Dont understand the celtic union stuff about a scotland-ireland state, that probably wont ever happen, as cool as it would be. And eh, feel free to rebuild hadrian’s wall. You can use it to keep us in, and we’ll use it to keep you out. It’s a win win.
Alexander “Che Guevara” Boris de Pfeffel Johnson, defeater of the Establishment and champion of Democracy, and Michael “Experts are stupid” Gove were noticeably absent from the debate in parliament today. They were presumably spending time training for the Olympic Backpedalling team they’ve been invited to.
I’ve been thinking recently about the referendum. The EU is a really complicated issue, and it’s pretty unreasonable to expect individual people to make a broad decision on a vastly complicated issue. This just leads to both sides coming up with whatever bullshit they think will sway the masses, and now many people are regretting voting leave. I’ve come up with an amazing idea on how to solve this. Rather than asking the people to directly vote on an issue, we could get them to vote for people whose job it is to understand these issues. They will then vote on it instead, and everyone will be a whole lot happier. Michael Gove seems to be a big fan of democracy, so we’ll name it after him, we’ll call it a Government.
In my passport? Me.
Needing stamps means standing in long lines and answering questions. I much prefer the current EU system where you go up to an automatic gate and it scans your face.
Not to mention if you have stamps from certain countries you can’t visit some other countries.
