It’s the greatest time of the year once again, Super Bowl Sunday. This year, the New England Patriots (14-2) will take on the Atlanta Falcons (11-5) in Houston, Texas. Patriots QB Tom Brady and Falcons QB Matt Ryan are most likely the two MVP Finalists, with Ryan most likely to win (because Brady was suspended 4 games without evidence or legal basis). The Patriots and Falcons are near neck and neck on offense, respectably with the number one and number two offenses. The Patriots have a better defense and special teams, however.
The Patriots have won the Super Bowl 4 times in the past, and have visited the Super Bowl more times than any other team at 9. The Falcons have an 0-1 super bowl record. The Patriots are one of only two teams that Matt Ryan’s Falcons have never beaten. The other being the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team the Patriots defeated last night.
I am rooting for the New England Patriots, seeing they play only two towns away from where I live. I somewhat respect the falcons, but as a Packers fan it was hard seeing last nights game.
My Super Bowl 51 prediction… (feel free to comment yours)
Technically, both are football it’s just that is one is American and the other English ( now played world wide ), I particularly don’t like football, especially when used in manipulation, as in Brazil, but American football seems to be much more fun to watch!
I did see the New England Patriots win their previous game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Similar to Joe’s reasoning, I will route for the Patriots since I live not far from New England. However, I think this Super Bowl will have the Patriots play victoriously till the end of the 4th quarter.
Last night, the New England Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons 34 - 28 in overtime. The Patriots staged the biggest comeback in Superbowl history, and brought the game into overtime for the first time in Superbowl history. Tom Brady won Super Bowl MVP.
Also, I heard rumors that @MrFerf was planning to brag to me before the game even ended. tsk tsk tsk, I’m gonna talk your ear off ferfie
I never understood why American sports leagues do that - I mean I would agree that we’re probably the best American football league in the world, but why get so cocky? See, even Americans don’t get it ;D
Actually, the rest of the world doesn’t even get a chance to play. The Superbowl is basically the final of the National Football League, which, as the name suggests, is an American league. It would be like the winners of the English Premier League for football/soccer being declared world champions. It’s inaccurate, and doesn’t consider the other teams which play around the world in other leagues.
