I canā€™t agree with that idea Ruby. To me, a creation made has no value unless others get the chance to see and appreciate it.

Aside from those who were involved with that save of the map, who would ever see the work? You could not show them or improve upon it yourself.

I know that not everyone thinks this way, but this is how I see it. The best our server has made should be brought over while the rest can either be abolished to oblivion, or offered as you suggested.

I see no reason why we canā€™t still offer the copy of the map to those who want it. Also, how do you feel about the current projects like Hogwarts that Vaio is making?

Like in the old thread, I suggest ONLY a chest determined by rank.

I think that keeping old things is kinda cheap, because if itā€™s a new map we should start new. Maybe keep spawn just to have a safe starting area, but other than that I think that we should get rid of everything. I think that with everything being added in, keeping just one city will cause problems, like nearby areas that have to be re-generated to not match well, etc. Perhaps we could just have a new seed too, so that itā€™s completely fresh. Then we would be able to make a larger spawn city.

While weā€™re talking about the new map, maybe instead of ā€œNeeds 4 inhabitants for a warpā€ we should make it so you need 4 people to found a town in the first place, so we donā€™t get like 10-20 towns with only 2 or 3 citizens. Thoughts?

Well its either items or money it seems. I would like to have my money transfered over because the only person who has more money then me is Andy (aka i have lots of moni).

Hereā€™s my opinion of 1.8 etcā€¦

CITIES - I think large cities should but maybe very selectively, Big City and maybe one other one. Everything else should be new I think imo.

PLAYER CREATIONS - For player creations maybe select one choice per person and put some together in some polls and the winner perhaps per poll gets transfered? If not then nothing-because as said before fresh startā€¦

MONEY - I believe certain amount of coins per rank. Perhaps doubling each time-if this gets to high thenā€¦

ITEMS - 1 double chest for member, 2 double chests trusted, 3 mod, 4 op, 5 sop, 6 admin?

I just realized if we were going to try to keep the same seed wouldnā€™t the world generate the same with Jo new features, because thatā€™s how it will predetermined by the seed itselfā€¦ noticed according to something Jeb said on twitter

I doubt even the same seed would generate the same map anymore because there are so many new features (new land formations, oceans, rivers, proper islands). At most it would probably produce something similar, but it wonā€™t be the same.

I have thought of a compromise.

No item transfer.
Only advertised money transfer (350 member+ and extra for donators)
Transfer Bigcity/Newspawn, Fortress, Hogwarts (Has it actually started being built yet?) and then either Wakepoint or Snow Village.
Apart from that we start again. As liam said, itā€™s fun to start again :3

Oh yeah, and still put the map up for download for people that want it :smiley:

Shadow if you read the rest of the responses it is fairly unanimous that donators will keep the amount of money they got from donating.

Well itā€™s quite easy to get money time by time, all you need is a spider spawner, a sword, and some blocks.

its a one of a kind build. it has more people living in it then some towns have. Atleast take a look if you havent already. :smiley:

I personally have no objection to bringing voted creations over, but that should be in a different thread. It is a nice place Keaton.

I agree that money is easy to obtain. Sometimes staff will help you by spawning mobs for you. Just see if you can survive!
