Silent Hunter III Group Post for Anyone else who plays + SH3 Pics and Logs

Okay, so first of all Silent Hunter III is a not-free-to-play which has a small multiplayer option. This game is more for the single battles and campaign. Anyways, the game takes place during World War Two, where you play as a German uboat who’s objective is to sink as many Allied (British, Australian, American, Canadian, Norwegian, French and even Icelandic) merchant ships (meaning cargo ships) as possible. Sinking warships (navy ships with pew pew pew guns) is not the objective and should only be done in defense. So what do I do? I go out and be reckless and sink a bunch of warships! Stupid me. This post will also be for others to post what they do on thier SH3 game if anyone else plays it. Anyways enjoy my reckless behavior and some photos (btw this was a single mission so no big deal if I died or not)

Above is my U-Boat, U-166, which in this photo is 20km from New York Harbor intercepting shipping traffic to and from that harbor. Fun Fact: U-166 was sunk by a US submarine chaser patrol boat in the same year - it was sunk by USS PC-566 specifically.

So I came across this heavily escorted convoy of 20 merchant cargo ships and 10 warships. I figure ‘‘why not have some fun with the big guns’’? I send out a torpedo to the first warship I spot, which happened to be a --cough-- tugboat --cough-- with a 3 inch 50 caliber naval artillery gun on board. Again I figured ‘‘What fun! A tugboat with a gun! haha’’. I actually have a model of one of these armed tugboats, USS NAVAJO, look it on up. It was sunk by a Japanese submarine in 1943. I send a special delivery for Mr. tugboat and within a minute hes at the bottom of the Atlantic AS SHOWN ABOVE.

Next this 4 stacked old World war one era (yes, world war one era ships were used in world war two) destroyer starts charging me at 36mph so what do I do? I send a torpedo up its ass again shown above. The thing blows up and sinks in 30 seconds (the game operates in real life time, and therefore there is a time compression/speed up time button). I have another shot of it below.

After messin around with these guys I get surrounded by destroyers and those somewhat-pointless armed tugboats and they sink me. Yep, U-166 is now at the bottom of the Atlantic now too. Good grief.

Alright PCB, hope you enjoyed this post, cya l8r
