PSA: If you intend to play on the FTB server, please be willing to learn how the mods work for yourself. While the more experienced players are happy to help to an extent, don’t expect them to hold your hand all the way through relatively basic stages of the game, or provide you with resources.

How to Install;

  1. Download, install and make an account with curse/twitch launcher
    (https://mods.curse.com/client)

  2. Download the mods and config files

  3. Launch twitch/curse launcher, Go to mods>minecraft

  4. Create a custom profile, Name it whatever. Use minecraft version 1.7.10. Leave the forge version at default.

  5. Right click on the profile icon and select open folder.

  6. Extract both the mods and configs into the folder that opens, merging the mods folder with the empty one already there.

  7. Run the modpack! Twitch should download all the required files to play.

[29/08/2017] Pack released, Mods updated from old pack. Few mods added

[30/08/2017] Removed 14 ‘junk’ mods. Added stevesfactorymanager. Added McMyAdmin. Added 2 hourly restarts. NEWMAP.

Does anyone know how I could reduce lag? It takes 15 minutes to boot and if I even glance in the direction of the options menu it freezes for so long it might as well have crashed.

Your pc/laptop probably cannot handle the game in itself.

You could try turning down the graphics settings and reduce the view distance, but it seems like there’s not much you can do. Modded MC is fairly demanding anyway, and there are a lot of mods in this pack.
For future reference, Steve’s Carts and Steve’s Factory Manager will be added to the pack soon, so if you have any other mod suggestions, post them here or tell fatso so they can be added at the same time.

If anyone is confused by the BetterFps menu, if you find the BetterFps-1.0.1.jar in your mods folder, run it, and click ‘Test Algorithms’, it will tell you the best one to use for your system. The mod author recommends running this several times to see which result comes up best consistently. (Lower number = better, it will prompt you to switch to the best result after each test).

For my system, Java Math was worst by a large margin in every case (go figure) and the best seemed to flip between the 3 Riven’s algorithms and LibGDX’s.

Could you disable generation of IC2’s ores? Right now both Thermal Expansion and IC2 copper, tin etc. are generating. The ingots can be used interchangeably, but it’s still kinda annoying to have two types.
