Came across this from the minecraft forums the other day. Not sure if it would work but it would definitely be worth investigating - even if it might be a temporary solution.
If it’d work, I’d actually be able to hook the site to your server
I mean, if you would be able to set it up, it would allow you to have a static address: eg. myserver.somename.com - which would then redirect you to your dynamically changing IP.
Therefore, the address would “technically” remain the same and you won’t have to keep looking for the new address on the Minecraft.net list.
this looks great! =D, im going to have a gandar at it right now!, and i have been meaning to ask you how you kept your old server with a static ip?, as well as how you implemented this website domain to be able to give ‘realtime’ (:p) information on the server status such as things like banned list, if its up and its url.
Basically, you connect to a web address myservername.somewhere.com instead of an IP 123.12.1.1. You then make the web address redirect to an IP address (which automatically detects your dynamic (changing) IP address). Therefore, the web address will remain static (never change) and you won’t need to keep finding the new address.
simple =], but how would i integrated it with this website? and because my pc is turned on and off, unlike most servers, would that have any negative effects on the program and this website if it is integrated?
lol Where trying to use the forum as a chat.
Just go to this… lets see if i can get
all 3 of us in here. lol https://voxli.com/Hard24get <----Use that lol
I can then link it to the web address instead of the IP because the IP will keep changing. If it’s on/off, it shouldn’t make a difference. People will just be unable to connect.
