Please listen and consider my words.

OLD POST IS OLD

Well, first off.

If you are going to quote someone, particularly me, please at least say it was me.

Second, they are stupid. If you want to have stuff like this, you dont have to have it on the forum, have it in-game.

The, ‘dumb topic’ refrence was also taken out of context, and is not meant at a single person, but a group as a whole about making chain posts like those.

Now, I’m sorry if I’ve said anything that offended you, or ANY other non/staff member, but what i said was pretty much true. My personal feelings had nothing to do with this. I like you all very well, its just, sometimes certain things happen and that can make people mad, especially if they are trying to catch the next post on one topic, and they check the home page, and it’s literally filled with spam messages, such as the ones that those posts were taken out of.

Also, ani, if you didnt notice, I locked two topics, with the same name, for the exact same reason.

Yes, maybe saying dumb/stupid/anything in that context was a little mean, but, it wasn’t directed at a person, it was directed at the topic.

Addressing the banning thing, we physically can’t take the banned players side into consideration prior to the ban. It just makes the ban system useless. That is exactly the reason we have appeals. That’s where your side of the story can be heard. If we did this for every player we ever banned, there would be almost no bans. Most griefs we see, the player has left long before, and in cases where the player is online and the ban isn’t for grief, it gives the player a chance to think about why they received a ban.

Please don’t argue with me on this, I’m having a great day and don’t want to ruin it over a forum fight

I agree with John here. I feel being honest is the best way to do things on something like our forums and server, but at the same time we should try to do things without getting our opinion involved. Maybe he shouldn’t have called them done, even if many people (myself included) thinks they were dumb topics.

Mods and Ops are being a little less considerate of the non-staff members opinions and feelings.
Not sure I agree with this entirely. I see what you mean kind of, but I can see staff point of view when they do perhaps get annoyed. If guests/members/trusted are constantly pestering staff, asking for tp's, asking to build with them, etc, if gets very frustrating. Especially if you tell the player to wait, or straight up tell them no, but they continue to pester or complain more. Another annoying thing is when players argue amongst themselves about the smallest things, making problems that aren't really that apparent in the first place. /rant
staffs Personal opinions and/or "rage" kicks in and the player gets banned without a say.
As mentioned above, we should keep opinions out of what we do mostly. However, if someone is acting like a complaining little brat over something stupid, and abusing staff and other players (basically just acting like an ass) I will ban them. Also, why would they get a say in it? If they misbehave they will get banned. If they believe it was unjust they can appeal and it will be talked over. [EDIT: As ouhai mostly mentioned above, while I was typing this.]

Errm, sorry to burst your bubble here anima, but John is/was right, if i came across this i would of said the same thing more or less. In fact, I have witnessed many communities get destroyed with “First post gets…”, “First person who can answer this…”, “Anyone know where i put my purple crayon?”

The truth is, it does look unprofessional and can and may destroy PCB (highly unlikely because we have this wonderful staff to keep the spam down and keep the site up and running). I’m sorry if this hurt your feelings, but it is very true, it does make the site look unprofessional. This is directed to the spam…

Anima, I am glad to hear your feelings on this. It can be difficult to publish ideas that may be unpopular. Especially when it is staff your criticizing.

That said, those above me are all correct. We are all only human and we make mistakes. We also don’t always censor our posts to remove personal opinions. The “dumb” reference can easily offend the poster who made the post, but it was not directed at that poster. There are many posts that are pointless (all of em? lol?).

It is like in classic when someone makes a box house. We are all sick of them, but to the person who made it, it is their first. I mean, I made a dirt house the first time I played. I was so proud of it too… Making that now would earn me a demotion!
