Today, I found that I could impersonate people with /nick (even while they’re logged on). For example, busterlef generally uses the nickname ~Buster. Thus, I did /nick Buster and the server successfully changed my name to ~Buster. In fact, the only way to differentiate was our ranks/world prefix thingy. I’ve found that I can /nick to anybody’s nickname who’s online (haven’t tried with anyone who’s offline yet).
I’ve found that this only works for me taking someone else’s nickname. I can’t /nick to their actual name (e.g. I can’t do /nick busterlef successfully, only /nick Buster).
I believe it’s been broken before, as Koala changed her name to ~Yoshio once when I was Trusted. Not sure if it’s a glitch or if the plugin is actually broken.

I think that is a normal thing, i don’t know how that nickname thing work but as it says, its a nickname so you can pretty much change it to whatever you want! (you can’t change to the real minecraft name (ex.busterlef) because that is actually her real name and you can’t use that name as you can’t use it when creating a new minecraft account because that name has already been toked!

Well, it seems that this is a feature, and not a bug. Although really, I would prefer the option be removed, but hey, whatever. I guess someone can lock this. 8)

This is not a bug, It’s a feature. In all seriousness, this is not broken per say, because there has never been anything in place to prevent this. Common sense still applies, impersonating people is bad, staff is worse. Impersonating staff is a bannable offence.
