Mojang bullshit, they just want everyone to mve to that shitty thing that’s called realms, that everyone knows is shit. They’re gonna get a fuck load of shit from the entire minecraft community when all the ~$1000 a month big servers go down, then they’re gonna realise they made a big mistake by listening to the morons who want to ban everyone on a server for fun by asking for everyone to have the same permissions. My opinion is that there is almost no way that this will be able to stay the same way. I would say that currently the majority of mine craft servers are either PvP or Hungergames or some other type of mini game. Again the majority of those servers offer many, MANY options to buying things whether it be classes or blocks or anything of that sort. The EULA will have to be modified for this to have much of a chance of working in my opinion.
They arent looking for it to ‘work’.
Mojang needed a way for people to look into realms. They now have that way.

Anyways i totally agree with the points above. The whole “Server Owners are so greedy and shiz” is just complete bs. It costs so much time and money to create a server. If your a really big server (like hypixel/mineplex) then you have to pay all your hard working devs and mods. people from mojang (ahem Eric Broes) say that its not a real job, but if hosting a big community isnt a job, then how is making videos on youtube and being funny a legitimate job??
I really hate the people who side with mojang. I mean like they think servers can live off of donations without any perks.
Have you ever donated to the wikimedia foundation? I think not.
Okay… So mojang wants you to advertize 3rd party stuff and wants you to charge them before they can play…
So thats totally better than just an optional fee to pay cuz every single server is OBVIOUSLY P2W.
Also if your 10 yr old kid fucking buys 500 dollar things its not the servers fault or mojang. Its your fucking fault. U shouldve been a better parent and NEVER hand yur credit card to a 10 yr old…
Also if mojang enforces this then all small to medium servers (like us) will probably die out.
At the end of the day, this is just another scheme. LIke Order 66. They bring down the awesome servers and everyone goes to Realms (aka the sith)

Maybe all we need are a few donors who can support the server.
Really… Realms is in no way a replacement for any form of server. I can get a server from beastnode for $5/month and it’ll be better than realms.
Realms are:

Realms is designed for 10 year olds who can’t figure out how to set up a server, it’ll NEVER be better than a custom server.
Too many people would pour money into PCB to
keep it from closing. Especially the handful of people who donate over $50.
Nobody should worry about PCB funding. We don’t rely solely on donations, they just help relieve the burden.
