My Classic op Permissions on the forums.

Hello. Yesterday John and I had a discussion. It was about my classic op permissions. I have not had any problems with it until i went premium and got the Trusted rank. Is this normal for Trusted to be above Classic Op? or is there a problem?

In short, no.

The ranks only go one way. So, if you were S/C MP OP, yes you would be a classic OP as well, but it is not the same for the reverse of that, a classic only OP, can only usually expect to get up to trusted for rank transfer.

Smp/cmp ranks default to overtaking classic ranks due to the fact that the forums has a sync system with the main server, im not sure if its possible to set you in the trusted group and have your primary status as classic op without messing up your rank on the main server. I or another can try if you want? you would have to test your rank on the main server afterwards though.

I have tried this before and the only one that is really counted is the main one. The one required for the main servers to recognize your rank.

It may be something only Andy can fix.

I believe I tried to get multi-groups working a long time ago (eg. op + donator), but to no avail I’m afraid.

Ill try it later on today or tomorrow. Im not sure if i will be able to get on today. If it doesnt work ill settle for trusted.

EDIT: Still trusted but have all my Classic op powers back! Thank you!

I added Classic op to the additional groups for sword.

Well i am able to see staff application, IRC, IRC (popup), and Website links.

I can now move, remove, lock, sticky, and merge topics

and i can post in locked threads.

Pretty much everything i could do before getting trusted. Not sure what the IRC stuff is though. Not messing with it.

Well, then it seems the permissions are working as they should. Strange. I had assumed whoever promoted you would not have replaced your classic rank for trusted. Shame on me for not looking.

i believe the mix up happend when he made his Premium account his main account as appose to the old account.

either way, glad to see its working. Btw IRC is kinda like a chat that Hard runs. its also connected to the Classic Chat.
