Found this software claiming that you can get any Minecraft version and change between them endlessly. I have no idea if it works, seems legit, someone should try it out and tell me what it’s like. I know it seems fishy, but it’s worth a shot, eh? http://mcvc.in/
I actually use minecraft magic launcher. It works to switch between mods and versions quickly… provided you know how to work it. The launcher also comes with feeds linked to notch, dinnerbone, jeb’s twitter; the minecraft reddit; the minecraft forums; the minecraft version log; and the wiki.
Yeah, it’s great.
It works Now I can play! 
MCNostalgia also works, but as with anything, you have to wait for the update to be released
