Minecraft Is Under attack Yet Again. (not Confirmed). My Friend (Hondamotox) is a long time member of 4chan and he said that the ddos (Douches & D***s Operation Sqaud) are at it again.

all Minecraft related things are down. Ie Forums, Game, WoM , Creeperbot & keith ( no i did not crash the server) and to add to that didnt notch just buy a DDoS proof server?

I think this now is some stuff that needs to be taken care of.

I restarted my router and computer and it got me back into minecraft, but I don’t now if thats what fixed it. I think if you have logged in as a wom client you can’t go into the minecraft server until you restart your computer/router. I may be completely wrong but it worked for me.

Don’t think it had anything to do with wom client. The reason wom client wasn’t working was something was preventing the minecraft site from loading (as suggested, probably a ddos attack) - and therefore it could not grab the server list = no working wom client.

That’s odd Andy, I had a lot of trouble as well, but only with the WOM client. My bot had no trouble logging in and I could log in from the official site. I was able to get the WOM client to load the server list, but could not access any server. It gave me an error saying that it could not parse the server address.

Think it could be something else, or are my symptoms just odd.

BTW, there were other players in the server when I got on. None of them were using the client.

Weird. I wasn’t even able to load the minecraft site to play via browser. Could that have just been me only then? I couldn’t even get to it using a proxy

I’m getting the same thing. Oh well, I trust that Andy is working on it and will alert us when it is working. Cant blame him for these problems (Well, at least most of the time!).

This is a different bug than I have seen before. It looks like it recognizes the server is there, but loops to the point of freezing during the log in. AKA, it does not say, “the server is down” or generate a blank map.

Oh, and the test server is not even there.

so your saying that the bug is trying to stop people from entering the server
. it’s like the same bug on my friends web page the bug is mainly designed to block or hide or slow some thing down but it is not designed to be dangerous to the server soft ware. and the bug can hide and manipulate. (AKA IT IS MADE TO BE F$@% ANNOYING)
but i might be wrong

Good luck, no one has one of those accounts anymore. They are so rare! They don’t even accept new members through invite.

Anyways 4chan is not responsible for the attacks. It’s just some idiots posting on 4chan to get the word across.

Don’t get mixed up and spread false information.

This chain we had going was just made to point out the ridiculousness of the concept to taking down 4Chan. Seriously?

I also knew it would be unlikely for 4Chan to do such an attack because most people there love Mine craft. There is always a board about it in /V/ at least.

I normally don’t troll anything, but this was a classic.
