A friend of mine messaged me earlier asking for a favour, the chat will explain itself:

Some guys at work are working on a Minecraft project this weekend. Don't know exactly what they're doing but they've asked for peoples' stats files. I said I know a guy (you) that plays frequently and has friends that play.

If you could send me your stats file, and maybe get files from your friends too please, I would be very grateful.

Could these stat files contain anything that we might not want them to see? i had a look through it but most of it is some sort of string code?

I don’t think so, its used to track stuff like blocks broken, to award achievements etc.

There is a bit in there with notch saying they were planned to be shown on your minecraft.net account, so you can brag about stuff.

To add, I completely trust this friend of mine, and the info will be used by others at his work (which is something along the lines of online marketing). If people don’t want to send the stats I understand, but I doubt there is any info you wouldn’t want shared.
