And the default texture of cobblestone and bricks have changed slightly: http://imgur.com/sMdCf
Unsure whether that’s simply from a bad YouTube compression
Jen is adding Shears and is making tnt only detonated by redstone or fire.
This means we can make traps also!
At some point I want to make an obstacle course type thing, like a pyramid with a prize at the end (like jumpquest) But with traps rather than just jump puzzles.
I AM GETTING SO MANY IDEAS O_o
I think my brain might explode.
One thing I dislike, and this isn’t just with the pistons, is how if you put a fence in water, for example, it has the invisible block boundary around it, making floating water…
Also, if its appropriate, can I start work on the castle/pyramid type place? Then fit things inside it when 1.7 is out?
I am so happy that pistons can be moved with other pistons as well. Store your slimeballs, ladies and gentlemen, you are going to need those, or make ALOT of money from them!
Zesty the only reason repeaters are banned is because they repeat the current into an infinite loop, if you have a repeater with a NOT operator on the end (redstone torch) it kills the current. Not gonna lie I have manually made repeaters in Roadhouse but its all wired to an ON/OFF switch so its fine. As long as the current doesn’t run all the time you’re fine and i dont think you want that door constantly opening and closing (unless you make like a mini golf course or something) so you’re fine.
Also, if anyone has redstone questions, Jhogg set up a redstone tutorial center inside the University of Fortress Engineering building basement. Please just look, don’t touch.
So it has been mentioned by Notch that 1.7 may be pushed forward just to include the pistons, while all the remaining adventure features will be postponed to 1.8.

Shears:
Shears are a planned tool mentioned by Jeb on Twitter[1] and that will be included in version 1.8. It will be able to quickly remove wool blocks, and will be the only reasonable way to get wool from sheep.[2] Shears will also be a legitimate way of obtaining placeable leaf blocks (which may be used for garden decoration like hedges)[3].
Spike blocks:
xInstAkilL: @jeb_ I don't like this idea. You know what I want? Only two kinds of pistons; Sticky and normal But make a spike block! THAT CAN BE PUSHED!

Back in the office, and some words on 1.7 and 1.8!
After a few weeks out of the office (E3, then Italy, then F.3.A.R this weekend (great game!)), I’m finally back in the office. The chair is a lot more comfortable than I remember, and the office is overflowing with irony. While I was gone, we’ve hired another graphics artist to help out with Scrolls, Mattis (@bomuboi on twitter), and two more potential employees are being talked to. More news on that when we’ve signed them.
Me and Jens have been independently working on stuff for the adventure update, and it’s been growing in scope as we’ve been working on it. That means it will take quite some time to finish, but that it will hopefully change the game a lot to the better. To prevent going too far between updates, we’ve decided to release Pistons early.
That means 1.7 will be released soon, containing only pistons and probably a couple of bug fixes. The adventure update will take however long it takes, and will be released as 1.8. It might be a long wait, but it will be worth it!
After 1.8, we’ll have to start crunching for the full release in November. That includes finishing up the mod api, improving stability and performance, adding supporting features like friends lists and a proper server browser, integrating singleplayer and multiplayer, and most importantly fleshing out the gameplay.
The release date is almost certainly changed to sometime the week after 11/11/11, and we’re working hard on setting that up. We want to make a big spectacle out of the release where we involve fans and celebrate it properly.
Then we’ll rest for a few weeks. Then I’ll start working on the first post-release update.
i just made a possible mob discovery :D. i was roaming around the minecraft folder (using an archiver ) and i though it would be interesting to see the files for mobs and there was an unusal file … it was called silverfish.png i looked up silverfish to see if it existed in rl and it does 1. a type of fish
2. an insect that is know to do damage to wood /paper. if the bug version was added to the game i think it would be interesting. being harrased by a bug and it destroys a couple of blocks of wood in your house. this was in the mob folder so it has to be a mob
…well time to eat my words. Why would he leave the texture of the silverfish in the jar file now? An accident from working on it before 1.7 was released maybe? Or to give some thorough fans a little bit of a teaser from 1.8? Either way nice find 121.
well i think he does it on purpose he did the same thing with pigmen (not the zombie version)
Also notch just posted a pic of npc villages giant mushrooms and ancient ruins
