i have noticed in the past 2 days 3 people have been using /me (same as /action) for everything they say. more and more have been doing this and its somehow getting on my nerves. People seem to use it to stand out or something, what it is used for. if anyone know wants to know, you use it for special announcements and if you do somthing “third person”.
side note; i also sometimes overuse it, like in PN24 broadcast, and im wondering if that’s ok.
If it gets annoying, staff usually ask them to stop. If it’s been requested that they stop and they don’t, a temp ban may be in order depending on the severity/amount it is used past said warning.
I’d also like to point out that /me is for actions presented in the third person, e.g. “AngelSentinel smacks @Amphitryon in the face”. If you can’t word your desired action like that, you probably shouldn’t be using /me.
And even then, try not to use it too much. Try substituting “* YoshiBoy13 publicly applauds AngelSentinel for his audacity.” with “[Mod] ~TheYoshi: publicly applauds AngelSentinel for his audacity” - it at least cuts down on the vapid quantities of purple produced.
Or just do what you want, but stop if asked.
Why are people overcomplicating everything recently? Just use common sense…
I’m fairly certain it’s possible to de-purple the text in the essentials config.
You shouldn’t have to do that though. The issue can solved much more easily by people just stopping.

No… its fine… this all seems rather unnecessary. Just leave it as is and don’t abuse the system.
HitsHard if you recall I was on the server the same time as you when ‘Nikki(randomletters)’ was using /me the wrong time. I did kick her from the server a couple times during that day and told her to not overuse /me incorrectly.
