I’m one of many who are shocked and stunned by these turns of events, It was when I only got home that I saw on my phone that an attack on our capital has occurred on London Bridge. It’s now been reported by the Telegraph that four people have died and 20 seriously injured and the numbers have been increasing. On behalf of PCB to the people affected we send you our condolences and our love from all over the world.
I remember walking over that bridge and standing right in front of that fence last year September. I think because of that the news of these attacks have hit me harder than others. I’m also very sad that the police officer who got stabbed sadly passed away. The British police are probably one of the kindest in the world, and he gave his life for the people that represent the British democracy. I hope the injured fully recover, and I’m really sorry for everyone that died.
Totally shocking what some people do for their religion or beliefs. My thoughts are with the victims and families of this terrible attack and I hope they recover fully. :-\
I never thought a terror attack would occur in London, as it has been exactly one year since the Brussels bombings (unless this was the incentive for the driver to do such a tragedy). The attacker seems to have decided that it was a great idea to strike at the heart of the capital city. I can’t believe this. All my condolences goes to the people who enjoyed their values of liberty to the fullest. I give my respect to the police officer who did his job to protect the public from twisted people like the attacker.
I have been on Westminster Bridge too, I remember walking there. It was surely very shocking, we still don’t know if it was ISIS inspired, too. There are suspicious of an anti-Brexit attack.
Well I find this comment a bit misplaced, but that could be just me. I’ll do my best to answer your question.
At the moment, it’s a warzone in Mosul. In Europe during both world wars, the same thing happened. I’m sorry to say, but that’s part of war. The people that died because of gun fights in the US, those people were killed over an area of 50 states. In London it is an area of just a few square miles. Not saying that those people don’t matter, or are less important, it’s just different.
Now, why is it a terror attack(in a nutshell):
The person was inspired by terrorist groupings, such as IS, Al-Qaeda, etc.
The person obviously had a political target, and tried to make the impact bigger by also killing innocent people on Westminster bridge. His target was the U.K. Parliament. Probably one of the most famous parliament’s on earth.
The person tried to spread fear by attacking in a big city where it was claimed only a few days ago that an attack like this would never happen in London
The London Attacker was identified as Khalid Masood, It’s a 52 year-old british who lives in the Southern Midlands, besides, the attacks where planned in USA, New Zealand and another country which I don’t remember…
He was a ISIS soldier.
Between the 40 injured people, there was an American tourist and an Spanish teacher, obviously there was a policeman that was killed by the attacker, the tourist was either killed and the teacher was trapped in the London Eye. After the tragedy, they closed the Buckingham Palace for security and the Parliament was closed till today…
Sorry, didn’t realise I was being controversial. The last thing I’d want is for this to turn into a debate.
While it is terribly sad that what happened happened, terror, is a far far tinier threat that is made out. Terrorists want their actions to make a big ripple, interrupt our normal way of life. That’s why so much stress has been put on by those in power that we must carry on as normal. The statistics were merely to show how insignificant this attack really is in the global picture.
