So, I am trying to port forward something, but I don’t have gateway IP address. When I go to Search>View Network Connections>(Internet name)>Details>Default Gateway=Blank? I am using Windows 8.1… Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks…
Same with the command prompt way: WindowsR>cmd>ipconfig>3rd line>blank
Normally the gateway is: gateway:192.168.1.1 gives me: Could find, try www.192.168.1.1rr.com
Hit Windows(logo key)+R
Type cmd
in command prompt, type ipconfig
find your default gateway.
Just edited that, I had tried that and forgot about it. Doesn’t work.
I think your looking at the tunnel adapter part of ipconfig. You need to either look under Ethernet adapter local Area Connect, or whatever your wireless adapter is named.
The list should go in this order:
IPv4 Address
Subnet Mask
Default Gateway: nonsense
192.168.0.1 - This is the most common one I have seen.
Thanks Kyle and John. (Yes I know these questions are retarted,) but what do I use as my credentials? I tried the password you use to connect to the internet and the default password for my router.
You type that IP into an internet browser and it should bring up your router’s built in management program.
Yes I know. I’m asking what I put in there. You need a username and password. I was asking what do I used…
It depends on the brand of your router… And if your credentials have been changed…
After you figure out your brand of router, use this website. http://www.routerpasswords.com/
Typically, the login is either;
A.) Admin - password
B.) Admin - admin
C.) Administrator - password
D.) Administrator - admin
also, there may not be a password.
I had this issue too awhile back. John, hard and I tried all 4 combos and it ended up being all blank. Like no user and no password
Thats why I supplied the link, which has all default passwords.
John’s got this, but I just wanted to point out that your internet login credentials are never the same as your router credentials. At least, if nobody is being an idiot.
If someone did change the credentials to the router, it is often kept in the manual for that router as it has a spot for you to write down the credentials you make. Or what I do, keep it in my desk. Some like to write it inside the desk itself, like inside a drawer.
