Help With Running a Server

Someone wants me to help them run a server for a few people. I think about maybe 20 people would be a good minimal for a starting server. Do yall have any suggestions, i have found about 3 hosts that seem pretty good. Also, on some of the server hosts i went to they had slots for sell. Are slots the amount of people that can play?
Please give me some suggestions you may have. Any plugins that should be used, or any good, cheapish, easy to run servers.

Cool, Redstone seemed like a good one. Especially for the price. Thanks for the help.

Do not go with servercraft. I have one and will be switching at the end of the month to redstone.

It’s really hard to reccomend any server hosting company, and I plan to explain why this weekend, when I get a chance to write something up about it. Though out of the options, we run off redstonehost, though I would check out global7hosting, they seem fairly good as well. I have a lot more to say than this, but this should suffice for now.
