It gets a little annoying to work so hard on something that you’re really proud of and then just have it go poof into thin air or maybe you should archive the maps and then let people build on them so that there’s three or four maps because I like to keep what I built
Half the fun of Minecraft is starting again.
i agree with Ruby and hosting 4 maps is very difficult and expensive.
ofcourse i agree with you mark that some cities are sad to lose.
Imagine a Whole new place where you cans tart over and make Bigger Better and more Beautiful things.
Hey, if you want it to stop go complain to Jens. If we didn’t update, people would complain. When we do update, people complain.
The map has to change because 1.7 will add new biomes. The reason why the map changed last time was because it had been the same map for a very long time. (From what I hear) That’s the reason why this map didn’t last very long.
If you are lucky, 1.8, 1.9… will not change biomes and we’ll be able to keep the same map.
Then again, as Ouhai said, having a new map is quite exciting.
On that note, I know we don’t know when 1.7 will come out, but how about we use the market to transfer objects from on map to the other. People would just have to put their stuff in their shops. WE the market, and done!
Just a suggestion!
Just one problem with that guibo, market shops are big enough to fit everything you own in, which defeats the fun of starting over. I’m pretty sure that major terrain updates will not be added in for several updates.
We only update our maps under the event of New terrain generation code. Other things have to be pretty major in order to call for a new map.
