Was wondering on how to go about greifers? in the creative server its more or less a rule of thumb that if its 5 blocks, make them fix it, 10 blocks ban and undo them, but no idea about the beta. so far i have…
Find a greief, use either stick or redstone to find out name/ date.
–then is it instant ban if its more then a few blocks? are they given a chance to rebuild?
I asked hard24get to help me but he replied with ‘No’… thanks man XD! thought you were joking at first but after the third time…
anyway, any help is appreciated, any laughter at stupidity isn’t… XD
I like your rule system you had. It works fairly well for creative. For me, I ban if it seems deliberate at all. Little provocation is needed. I found three random holes in the wall of the community farm. BAN! Why? Because there is no way that those were accidental. The walls are stone, so its not like glass that shatters and its gone.
Even if they don’t have the right material to fix it, just filling in those holes with dirt or something tells me they tried to fix it. I have noticed that this is what Hard has been doing on a few occasions. That’s perfectly fine.
It they are easily broken blocks like glass, I don’t always ban unless its several. A lot of the time, its just based on how you think the griefing happened. It can be a tough call.
Whenever I ban, I always do a rollback on them. If they had a lot of block changes (which can be checked on the site first), I look around to see what went missing. Recently, the high block changes count is from aVo though.
What are the commands i would use? creative its /about to find them, /whois to find out about them, then either /warn, /summon to fix, /ban to ban and then /undo (seconds) to undo them, does beta have a similar system?
especially intrested on the /undo beta version, something about ‘rollback’?
Ya know, I don’t think OPs can rollback. If you could, it would be /lb rollback player (name) (time). Time being, “3 days” “1 hour” and such.
I’m sure you know the stick and ore’s usage. That is our about command. you know whats funny? I have not tried a whois command. I use the website’s player list to find them.
/tp here (name) is summoning.
/warn does work but you may have to play with it at first.
/warn [name] [reason] = Causes a player to freeze their actions (cannot move, mine, build, etc) until they type an acknowledgement of their warning. Specifically used for an offense that isn’t ban-worthy, like spamming, harassing, racism, etc. Usually text-related.
/tp here [player] = summons a player to you. (you can type /tp and it will give you a list of teleport-related commands you’re allowed to use)
/ban = obviously bans them permanently until you /unban (which we do not recommend, if a player wants to be unbanned then they need to file a ban appeal)
/lb rollback = will give you a help list of how to rollback a players actions, but like Kyle says we don’t know if Op’s can undo player actions.
/lb redo = If you rollbacked a player and want to undo your actions then this is the command to do so.
/about doesn’t work in the same fashion. A SOP or Admin has to give you a Redstone Ore block in order for you to check block history. You place the block in an empty space and it will tell you the block history, then instantly move back to your inventory. So don’t worry about accidentally placing it somewhere, it won’t stay there.
