GOT MY PERMIT!!! :P

A new one, or fairly old? Because aren’t most of the older Volvo’s pretty big and boxy…?
I like car conversations xD

I don’t drink at all myself. I fear not knowing my limit for one, and it’s a damn expensive habit. Oh, and I was scarred for life because my parents drank SO MUCH BEER when I was little. The effect it had on them made me very weary of it.

Back to cars now. I have a Honda Accord right now, but my last car was a Mercury Cougar. Both cars were made in 1995 and are green. These were totally by chance similarities.

I got the first car when I was in the Air Force for free. Not from the military of course, but a friend who was going to jail. Frankly, his “crime” barely counted as one, but it got him 4 years. Any-how, I drove that car from Mississippi to California when I left the military. It lasted about 3 more years before the head gasket broke and the car died.

I found the next car through my mechanic. He had a friend selling one, and it was a decent price. $1,200 in cash. I spent far more than that on maintenance and repair for both cars. They are expensive buggers!

I doubt I will get a car once I pass for a while. (If I pass :stuck_out_tongue: ) If I go to university in a couple of years then I won’t have much need of it really. The only cars I can really talk about are my parents ones xD

I don’t think it quite works like that. Just because alcohol is illegal it doesn’t mean people don’t drink. It’s not like a cop is sitting in your house watching you to make sure you don’t drink. Also “when people can drink legally they go crazy and kill themselves”, that is a fairly rare occurrence , it’s not like that can be assumed for every person. It’s not like alcohol is a normal drink, it is essentially a drug, and is toxic to the body. So you are right in a way, fine in moderation, but it can be easy to overdo and mess up something down the line.

As for cars I got really lucky. My grandparents needed to sell one of their cars, since they didn’t have room at their house, and had to keep paying for it in various means. Plus they are gone out of the county often and don’t need 4 cars. It is an 2000 BMW manual, so it’s quite nice, and only 70K miles on it. It’s not worth tons, but now my parents don’t have to drive me to swim practice at 4AM. It’s essentially their investment, so I can learn, as well as not take their time. So I consider myself extremely lucky.

I did exaggerate a bit. But it is true that 21 year olds in the US binge drink, just because they suddenly have so much more freedom. If they were introduced to it a little at an early age it’s less likely to happen. And I know that police don’t go around checking everyone’s house.

For cars, I should be getting my mum’s old car assuming it doesn’t die in the next 6 months. And she will cover insurance costs for the 1st year at least.

What model BMW is it? My dad has pretty much always owned BMW’s and Audis xD Not had an Audi in my lifetime however.

The Volvo is actually about 8 years old. It has only a few thousand miles on it I think. The person who drove it was actually kinda old and only used it to drive around town every once and a while. The only thing about it is that it has a little bit of hail damage. I’m supposed to be able to get it for around 1k. Since I have been saving my money, this will cut me down to about half of my savings. If I don’t get a job soon, insurance is Gona drain the rest of my money.

528i with a tape deck for awesome. Same with our family all bimmers.

Dayum, that is pretty lucky xD

Dayum a BMW? Nice going! Insurance on that thing must be crazy though.

Niiiiiiiccccceeeeee :stuck_out_tongue:

It is. Getting $200 off for this one program thing I’m doing.

Oh myth what kind ofVolvo and how old :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: Derp I can’t read a thread properly. Thanks gamergirl for pointing that out.

This answers one of your questions sip :stuck_out_tongue:

I can’t quite remember what kind it was, but i remember it was an itty bitty car kind. :stuck_out_tongue: I’ll be able to get another look at it in a week or two. Then i should be able to take it back to my house.

How descriptive XD :stuck_out_tongue:
