A new post voting/karma system has been implemented onto the forums today.
Any post can be voted up or down, and unlike our old system, has a potential effect on it. Posts which fall below 5 negative votes are automatically greyed-out.
Your profile settings also contain options on how to treat -5 and below posts.
The old karma system has been hidden and in it’s place is “Respect” (name subject to change), which indicates how many upvotes/downvotes you’ve received. To prevent abuse, a post count of 5+ is required in order to upvote/downvote posts. Obviously you can’t vote your own posts.
Please exercise common sense. The idea is to upvote quality posts and downvote anything malicious/off-topic.

In addition to a whole heap of bug fixes and updates, IRC is now in the bottom bar and iConomy rankings have been fixed.
A cap on how high one post can count toward Karma would be a good idea. It is fine to display how much it actually got, but a limit to the Karma counter would be good.
This also prevents a really negative comment from ruining karma for someone.
