not sure if anyone else has run into this, but i love this guys candor on the anime he reviews.
Lol.
like seriously, this guy is the Robert and Eebert of anime for me. i love this guy
I can understand his review. I know that when I saw Eva, it was the best thing I had seen yet, and the best for a long time after too. As he said, the action scenes were fantastic and the story was surprisingly good. The rest though, were lacking. The premise is actually terrible now that look back on it as he described early in the vid.
Reminds me of how someone asked why Puella Magi Madoka Magica had young girls as the main characters. They actually explained why in the show fairly well. It has to do with a critical emotional state of the people. Magical girls are chosen from that age very intentionally.
yeah exactly my thoughts. Although im one of those hardcore Evangelion otakus, i can agree entirely with what he said about the show. Now… when you start talking about the last two episodes, its a major mind funk, and in actuality, a lot of people have said that the final two episodes could be connected to what is going on in Shinji’s head during the initial stages of third impact in the End of Evangelion… not sure if i buy into that… but still
I liked his review on deadman wonderland yet I would want a review on gurren lagann after he recommended it.
