Fallout 4

Ouhai has been playing it for a few hours because he is in the UK, and I’m jealous af.

1 hour, 55 minutes, 28 seconds to go, for me…

The hype is real…

30 MINS

30 SECONDS!!!

FALLOUT 03

yeah i can’t afford fallout 4 cus i’m poor af and 3 was like £5

From what I can see, the wheel is sufficient and it gets the message across

Let me just say…

This game is simply perfect. I found a few small bugs, like Preston Garvey walked into the side of a car, and kept walking, but wasn’t going anywhere. He turned around and went the correct way after about 30 seconds of it. Bugs like these are just launch bugs, and Bethesda will fix them promptly. Don’t let this minor issue push you away. I stayed up to 5am, just me, Mtn. Dew Baja Blast, and Dogmeat.

For 5 hours of gameplay, I can say, this game is worth $60, and will almost definitely win Game of the Year.

Thumbs up, and nearly 10/10 in my own opinion.

I Accept!

I am going to start the entire saga from the beginning with the first Fallout on my MS-DOS emulator, DOSBox.

Okay, so after playing for about 8 hours (steam doesnt count offline hours) and having 304 hours in new vegas/3, i’m gonna say that fallout 4 is definitely living up to my expectations. I’m disappointed by the lack of skills, but the depth of the perk system is fantastic. The power armour is great, it’s OP as hell- if you can the find tiny, hard to spot fusion cores. It seems really good difficulty wise when played on normal- you still have to be careful but you aren’t annihilated, yet there arent many bullet sponges. Just don’t play it on survivor, for the love of god.
The amount of modifications is fantastic- I recommend investing in the perk’s that allow you to further mod your weapons A.S.A.P, as you can really make a new, unique gun out of your old pistol and a couple of tin cans. The dialogue is something I was worried about, but it seems decent enough. It has the old problem of l.a noire, whenever you selected an answer it didn’t come out as you expect. I’m not impressed or disappointed by the town building, but when you think of it as a completely optional side task, it’s really quite good. Like an improved version of the Real Time Settler mod for New Vegas. I’ve barely touched the main quest, as i’ve been to busy exploring and finding fusion cores.

Seems pretty well optimised for PC, but it isn’t well designed for pc. It seems like the UI is better suited to consoles. I have no idea how it is for consoles though , but i’ve heard that like fallout 3, it’s wonky on playstation, so keep an eye out for that.
As always, there a loads of bugs. I know others will say that there aren’t, but if you haven’t played skyrim or new vegas, then you won’t be used to the how often they crash or strange things happen. Still, they aren’t game breaking- more mildly infuriating. I’d say it’s as good as new vegas, but there are still patches to be rolled out, new dlc, mods etc. that will all add up to make this a perfect game. Did I already mention mods? On the nexus there are already a few out. If you have never modded a game, it’s always good to try it on a bethesda one. Just play it unmodded first.

Overall, i’d give it a 9/10 in its current state. It’s got the same old issues as other fallouts or elder scrolls, but it is still the amazing quality that is expected from bethesda, and a tad more.

Game’s more beautiful than I thought it would be. Hype was there, and it certainly exceeded my expectations. Good job Bethesda.

Currently about 13 hours in, have been mostly exploring. Level 14, but I’m nowhere in terms of the storyline. There’s just too much to do, to leap towards the story instantly.

Level 43, six sets of power armour, heavily fortified all main settlements… 39 hours in… + a couple offline because I was embarrassed I’d stayed up so late it was early. I love it. Many bugs, yes, but that’s just the engine, only 3 CTDs.

Meanwhile, back in the dark old days of Fallout 3…
1 hour in, already gotten kicked out of the vault, explored and found many destroyed houses with perfectly preserved potato crisps.

And I ran away from a big-ass bomb is that good?

Where do you find the power for all that?! I preserve my one set of Power Armor so it doesn’t run out of fuel. I’m saving it until I go to Boston, because who knows what is lurking there (From the experience I have, from living near Boston my whole life, things that will lurk there are : Poorly educated “historical” reenactors, homeless people begging, people with Mike’s Pastries boxes, people searching for Legal Sea Foods, people searching for Italian Restaurants, Outdated pasta sauce commercials, People who got lost, People who live in Mattapan (never go there, it is more ghetto than Detroit), school tours, tourists, flocks of Chinese families who visit the Prudential Building, People with strong accents, people transferring flights, duckboat tours, and last but not least, the old woman that followed my school tour group, mid-smoking of a cigarette whilst yelling “Midnight! Dominique! Midnight!”)

I have 10 hours into fallout four already, and I love it so far. Can’t wait until I’m at the point where I can plow down everything in my path.

It seems fusion cores are randomly generated as well as strategically placed. Sometimes they’re put in specific locations, but I have found some (rarely) alongside other ammo.

Incidentally, if anyone playing is getting to the Park St. Station mission, you have to pick a companion other than Codsworth, as he can’t fit through the ticket barrier…

You can also get cores from vendors. As well, with the local leader perk you can establish supply lines to share resources between settlements, this includes food, water, and building materials.

Thinking of getting the Season Pass, as I have a 23% off voucher with GMG, and Bethesda’s DLC is usually worth it.

Everyone is playing this. Seriously. ALL of my RL friends and gamers have it. Im lvl 11 now and have been wandering.

Sorry FTB! I’ll be back!

Spoilers for people who haven’t completed Glowing Sea missions:

Spoiler

Did they seriously have to bring the children of atom back? How the hell are they even surviving down there, I was getting 1-2 rads with a lead-painted powersuit and Rad-X…

Also…

I haven’t seen a few of my housemates in days, apart from them going shopping for snacks or take away…

Not even joking. They basically cease to exist.

That’s a fairly good description of my life right now.

Not just because of fallout, though. My workload has gone up quite a bit too…
