City Awards Results + Creative Map Update

[size=2em]Congratulations to:
1st Rancho Cucamonga
2nd Ghetto
3rd Sunshine Valley

As first place, Ranch will be receiving it’s own dedicated map. This is because Rancho embodies the kind of builds and cities we encourage PCB players to make. Striving to make cities as nice as Rancho and having room for collaboration is the perfect example and we want to show you the community this by giving Rancho it’s own map. Congratulations to the other two cities too! City owners please attribute any other players that had a key part in helping you achieve this award! (2-3 players max). We will be rewarding all the winners with a forum signature/badge soon! Thank you all for competing and as you may have guessed with this all happening…

[size=2em]The Creative Map is updating!

Please be aware that in two weeks from now (July 6) the Creative map will be updating to a new map!

*Don’t be alarmed, the map will be available for download so if you wish to continue your builds they will still be available for you to continue in a world download that we will provide

*There’s a potential for buildings that are meant for a city to be saved SEE THE BIGCITY ANNOUNCEMENT THREAD FOR INFORMATION

We are also enforcing some new rules for this map.

(1) PCB Creative will have one nationalized rail system. You will not be allowed to make rails from one place to the next. With the exception that you may build rails within your own city and that you will be required to follow standards (to be determined), you will be required to ask a staff member for assistance when connecting from your area to someone else’s in addition to when you make your actual stations if you wish to connect to the main line. We are making this rule for this map because we have witnessed firsthand that users have been uncontrollable with rails and we would like to moderate rail activity so that we can at least have a nice universal train line that serves well for transportation, and is pleasing to the eye.
More details will come in a few days!

(2) As far as Airports are concerned, please do not make them unless you have a staff’s permission to do so. Reason for this is that it doesn’t make sense to have an airport in every city, especially when some of them are very close together. Instead you will be expected to collaborate on regional ones for every 3 cities that might be near in distance so that there aren’t a flood of airports on the entire map

(3) Do not rely on Staff to follow your requests for WE. For the sanity of people’s laziness and a Staff’s member decision to help or not, only Trusted members will be given priority for WE requests, so long as they don’t require a long period of time. Staff promote your creativity when making cities/towns so please do not ask for flattening because it honestly just does not look good. (if you would like to build on flat you may always go to BigCity).

[size=2em]Additional Important Changes:
Rancho *The winner of the PCB city achievements award will be having it’s own dedicated map! Only Trusted players will be allowed to build in this map, so long as the city owner (Filipenis) or another Staff member gives the approval. Failure to follow to follow build approvals will have consequences

Since we are giving Rancho it’s own map we will also be changing the Spawn. BigCity will replace Lobby as the New Official Spawn for the server, and Lobby is being archived.

Congrats to all of the top 3
~Jacob

PS:the official poll said Top 4 not 3…

Farewell creative. It’s been less fun that I’d hoped because you were pretty meh for the last two years compared to the older creative maps, but still a warm Farewell <3

well thats good

Holy crap, I did not see this coming at all. Is this real? I can’t even imagine what’s in the future for Rancho Cucamonga now! Seeing this literally made me tear up a bit, don’t judge!

Thank you all so much! Thank you to anyone who voted for Rancho Cucamonga especially, because without you, the city obviously wouldn’t of been able to attain the honor and recognition that it has received today.

Thank you also to the members of the upper levels of staff who are making this dedicated map possible! WOW!

There are three people who deserve special recognition for their ongoing efforts to help the city become what it is today, these people are:

JetBirdie - Co-Owner of Rancho Cucamonga
xXWildzXx - Loyal builder in Rancho Cucamonga
Ouhai_Ruby - Behind the scenes in Rancho Cucamonga

JetBirdie is a great person, a great builder, and a good friend. He has always helped me since the beginning of my time on the server (back in 2011). He more than deserves both the co-owner title along with this mention! I sincerely hope we continue to impress PCB in the future with our cooperation!

xXWildzXx has always been loyal to the city since the day we met on PCB. He continues to help and add appeal to the city. You are the reason why I try to give players who are below the trusted rank a chance. You’ve definitely earned this.

Ouhai_Ruby is definitely one of my favorite staff members, my favorite SOP, and my favorite person from the UK (lol). Has has done countless amounts of behind the scenes work to keep Rancho ahead of the competition! I have also known Ruby since my birth on PCB from the original Forsyth. Ruby has always been a cool guy to work with and I hope we can continue this cooperation!

There are also three people, who may not have been directly involved with Rancho Cucamonga, who still deserve honorable mentions!

ItalianChild
CaptainFlappy_XD
koalamama

ItalianChild is, much like JetBirdie, a great person, friend, and builder (second place winner)! Although he hasn’t been very active lately (the reason for not including him in the top three), he was with me from my birth on PCB, up until the start of Rancho Cucamonga. If you know ItalianChild, you know he’s a hilarious guy with a good sense of humor, this is part of his Italian charm. ItalianChild means business with his builds and has always impressed me. He also helped me with many ideas regarding how to make Rancho Cucamonga stand out! Thanks man!

CaptainFlappy_XD, who also hasn’t been very active lately, has helped with Rancho from it’s early beginnings. He is a fantastic builder and someone who I know will impress others with his builds. You deserve this honor.

koalamama may not have helped with the construction of the city nearly as much as these other mentioned players, but I choose to honor her for a different reason. Her encouraging words for the city are exactly what has caused it to keep moving forward. “I was fangirling your city earlier and taking pictures” is EXTREMELY encouraging to me. Please continue to be Rancho Cucamonga’s cheerleader (lol), as there are many things to come that will make the city continue to impress others much like how the city has impressed you!

Also, thank you to all residents of this amazing city!

A second thank you to those who took the time to read this wall of text! XD

With all of that out of my system, I promise all of you who voted that Rancho Cucamonga will continue to be the trendsetter for other cities in Minecraft. I have MANY plans in the works for its future! Especially since it will now be getting its own map!

Things such as:

Added realism
New cities (Think cities in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, this means Las Vegas and San Francisco for those who aren’t familiar, also San Diego (not in GTA: SA)) depending on the size of the dedicated map.
New warp
Easier residency system
MUCH MUCH more!

I would also like to publicly announce that I will be donating to PCB within the next 30 days! This server more than deserves it! PCB fucking kicks ass!

Filipenis,

Loyal PCB Servergoer
Mayor and Owner of Rancho Cucamonga
Leader of The Cucamonga Republic

PS:

If I made any grammatical or spelling errors… Even memory errors for that matter above, I apologize. I am just super excited and happy for this. I will probably be editing the crap out of this post in the coming days for things I forgot to mention!

For the top 3 city owners, badges will be designed and issued soon so you can use them in your signatures.

YAYYY!

Great job, everyone!

Note: Please hold off on any questions about rail systems, more info is coming soon

Awww, I am so so so so so happy that Rancho won! Fili, you truly deserve it.

And that little mention was very very sweet. I’m glad I could help in some way.

I would be surprised if Rancho didn’t win first place. Rancho isn’t exactly my cup of tea in terms of style and scale, but there’s no denying that it’s an amazing project insofar, and it’s only going to get bigger and better from where it is right now. Well done, and keep up the good work. I’m excited to see what becomes of it.

Did you guys have a download link for the creative map available? Or will this be made available once the old map is taken down? ???

After the new map becomes live, there will be a link to the download, also on the wikia page!

Great! Thank you! ;D

The following people have received their badges. If anyone else needs them, let me know

Gold - Fillipenis
Silver - Ital
Bronze - zwinky12

Octo does that include the CO-owners?

Anyone who runs the town gets one

We can still play at multiplayer at the old map?

The old map will not be online once we start using the new map. You will still be able to use the creative map as a download.

How do you get the download onto your SP map, via Macbook air?
