Just thought I’d throw this out there for you all.
If you like a city-builder game that has some depth in the mayoral aspects, this game is a great one to try out. It’s much more interesting to me than Simcity, and I have already invested quite a few hours into it. It takes a few tries to fully get how to work out a city, as it took me four different starts before ending up on my current city.
It is also supported by Steam Workshop, adding even more content to it.
Here’s a screencap of my current one:[details=“Spoiler”]
Check out www.g2a.com if you want some crazy deals. Just make sure you either get a key for your region, or you buy it “Global”. It uses Steam, if you don’t already have one.
The game, usually, costs $30 on Steam. I grabbed it off of g2a, along with a Elder Scrolls Online DLC, for a total of $25.
As a side note, use promo code “LIRIK” at checkout (if it still works) for a bit of the price shaved off!
I’ve been playing it as well, but I believe it still needs a few things added.
First is trams like those in the new SimCity.
Second is dedicated farming zones instead of reordering industrial zones.
And third is enableable/disableable disasters. I love destroying massive cities I’ve built, and the only real disaster in skylines is flooding because you put a dam in the wrong place. I miss nuclear meltdowns, asteroids, tornadoes, and giant robots.
I bought this game for £22.99 but i forgot am on windows vista x32 … I now have to update my windows but a friend is hooking me up. One problem, i have to wait abit.
I think the only city building game I am into is SimCity2000. I still play it once in a while on dos and love the feel of it. It is kind of hard to describe it but this game just seems… Interestingly out of my interest. But meh. If there are disasters I’m sure you can have fun. I really enjoyed destroying my city’s with disasters in SimCity 2000. IF there are manual disasters, tell me!
Sorry, but Sim City 4 is easily the best one in the series…
Admitedly I haven’t played the 1st one, or 2000, but I’ve played 3000, 4, societies, and seen gameplay of the new one.
Sim City 4 stands out as the best to me.
SC3K was my faves because it provided really interesting scenarios and the difficulty wasn’t exuberantly difficult but still offered a challenge anyway. It seemed very well balanced in comparison to Simcity 4 which was still good mind you, but I prefer 3000 any day.
