Check the voxelsniper community. They have so many members that do wonderful tutorials about design, flow, colour, and much more.
They know so much. Joining them was probably one of the best things for my building skills. I recommend doing the same.

FyreUK are amazing at showing what can be possible if you are willing to edit texture packs and either build in a large group or take weeks to do on your own.
