[size=14pt]NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION, PLEASE PROCEED TO THE BELOW TEXT.
[size=12pt]Hello people,
So what have i been up to in my time away so far and why am I making an impromptu post?
Since i’ve been away my vinyl record collection has grown in size by 3 flight cases of 150 records taking forever to sort. I nearly got hit by a bus, i’ve driven a Mercedes AMG GT at 130MPH (on a private closed off road), DJ’d at 4 large parties, smashed my phone, crushed a hard drive, had several arguments with the Girlf, ruined 3 pairs of shoes and popped one of my studio monitors, all in all pretty eventful.
So why am I making a post? I hear you ask. Well as most of you know i’m a DJ and Producer (if you didn’t well now you know) and I believe that more should be done to support up and coming artists and to get new released tracks more support. This is why people in a moment of my magnificent glory I have started a new project that I need your help in order for it to take off and hopefully (fingers crossed) achieve what I am hoping it to do.
The next question I imagine you are now asking is what this project is. My new venture is a music promotion network? (if that’s what it’s called) going by the name ‘ASSONANCE’. Why do I need you’s lot to help and what do I need you to do? well you can start by liking my Facebook page (link below) and sharing it around with yo pals to help get the word out there. You can also head over to the SoundCloud account (link below) and also follow and share that around. Plus you could also head over to the website (link below) (still in dev. stages) and give that a read.
I am also in need of any hidden producers with work of which you want shared about you can fire them over to the email address below.
As a Student with a Music Technology Minor + Public Relation Major background let me offer some insight that may be of use to you:
Soundcloud is a great tool for the use of sharing music. So Thumbs up for having one and reposting for promotion. Although I like the simplicity of the description I feel like it should have a little more. Perhaps use your description box as a way to share your message further along the lines of saying “Send a message if you would like your music featured on our channel for repost”. It will give the impression that you’re open for collaboration / open to new people out there. Otherwise people might think that you’re just handpicking things yourself to put stuff out there. First impressions really make the difference, but do keep your message concise and space it out so it’s not a lengthy or difficult read.
I checked the about page of your Facebook and it basically sets the bar for what you should include in your Soundcloud’s description. Use what you got there to cut down on words and include in your Soundcloud’s description. I noticed you share music along with meme content. Personally if it were me running this I’d strictly keep it to new music and new announcements you have. You don’t want your page to become meme infested. You ideally want people to be interested to keep scrolling down the page to see New, New, and New in terms of content.
For your website, it’s a good setup but I think it comes off as empty only because the content truly lies within your Soundcloud and Facebook at the moment. What I might suggest when the time is right is to spice the website up. When you’re ready to create blog posts maybe include information about the people whose music you are sharing, their background + experience, and their significance to Assonance. Include maybe their official page if they have one, or a video link to their Youtube music.
One last suggestion. I know it might sound silly to you, but apparently Smule is becoming like this next big thing in music or whatever. I’d consider making an account with Smule to share content and hopefully even to discover talent for your business.
I liked your Facebook page, and followed your soundcloud. If you figure which one is me I apologize if you’re listening to my original and VERY raw content that I made when I first really even started messing around with Music applications lol. If I can be of any other service to you regarding insight and direction you know how to get in touch with me of course so don’t be shy. Also welcome back ya poopball
