I was browsing around on YouTube the other day when I stumbled upon this channel. This is some of the best dubstep I have ever heard. Not the headbanging mainstream stuff, but a much more laid back, relaxed melodic version of it.

Actually, I still do not quite know what the hell “dubstep” is. This in particular sounds like slow electronica/classical music. I’m not sure if I like how it switches songs as it goes. I really like some parts, but others are just OK. Is dubstep made by fading in and out of similar music?
No dubstep is a total shitfest of bass. Its sounds like BWAAAAH BWAH WHUBUBUBUBUBUBUBUB BWAH BWAH BWAH BWAH. I never understood how and why its so good. I mean I don’t mind it but its just bleh to me. The only song by this guy that I’ve listened to so far that fades in and out with different songs is miracle, which seems to be a song that mixes in the songs from the album or whatever.
Love at heart and the drift are my favorites. I’ve been listening to this guy for the past like 4 hours now hes SO good. I finally found a good artist whom I can listen to but not pay full attention to really enjoy, might not make sense to anybody who doesnt listen to metal but metal really kills your attention span since its so fast and always changing. This is the first guy on my ipod that ISNT metal or rock(Out of like 400 songs)

Dubstep is a fairly new genre form the UK for people obsessed with the basslines of songs. It makes the bass the main feature and usually has some sort of ‘drop’ where normal music builds up and then the bass kicks in.
This guy has made his own twist on it and made it more melodic, and generally easier to listen to.

Its hard to define a song as dubstep now, because there are so many sub genres.
Apparently skrillex isn’t dubstep? I don’t know. But it’s the same with metal, there’s Heavy metal, black metal, death metal, pirate metal, speed metal, metalcore, deathcore, techno metal, Nu metal, and the list goes on. You can’t exactly compare Trivium and Slipknot to the Lost Prophets and Metallica. They’re all very different.
Also take a listen to some of the Korn ft Skrillex stuff. It’s pretty damn good!
No. I believe that was an album preview of sorts (I think). As Ital and Ouhai said, it’s music for people who like their bass.
