So I haven’t been on PCB much and the times I am on, I usually leave within a few minuets. In the past this was because I was busy and just wanted to check in real fast or I simply didn’t want to play Minecraft. Now that its winter break and I have more time I still haven’t been on much, but I have been on more. This is because even with all this time I still get bored of Minecraft after a good while and also I have been working on a little engineering project at home just for fun and work. So I started out with asking my mother what would be something we could use at the house that I could make with wood. She said a wooden planter. For those who do not know what a planter is, (Most the manly men) I is a wooden box where you put pots of plants so you can have them together in a single box, it also looks nice and stuff. So I found a design, measured where I will be putting it, Got materials, Cut and Screwed wood, and put a sealant on it to protect it. This was my final result now that its all finished. Tell me what you think about it and maybe post some of your creations at home that you are proud of.
Daaaaaaaaaaaang. I didnt know you had an artistic side.
Woahhh. That looks a bit like one I bought about a month ago (and yes I am a guy). I’ve built my fair share of things, most of them are robots running hand coded advanced AI, but they’re a bit similar. The only stuff I’ve ever done with wood is IKEA furniture…
Well I built it mostly cause I wanted to try to do something with my break other than sit home and do nothing but games, so I did this. And when my parents were like, “IDK bout this…” I simply replied…
Looks sweet Ninja! Go engineering!
That actually is impressive. Looks professional too. How did your parents react? The most I made was Ikea stuff and some shelving for my mom’s records.
Nice! Pretty impressive.
Most I’ve done has been Ikea furniture, a bird box (when the pieces were already cut to size, I just nailed it together) and school technology projects (e.g. a clock, a reaction timer game that doesn’t work properly due to the code being a bit incorrect - I never had to fix it as my piece wasn’t moderated by external examiners so I didn’t have to prove it worked! Bwahaha.).
Very nice planter!
Thanks guys, It was kind of a group project with my father where we both decided on a design on measurements on the cutting method and on what to use to put it together. The materials cost in total around 60 or so dollars and some one the ones we found online costed from 100 - 200 Dollars. So I guess we saved ourselves a nice penny.
