A Project from college

[size=12pt]As some of you might know, I’m studying architecture in college, and so far so good I would say. The year is divided in two semesters, and you can earn up to 48 credits per semester, where each subject has a different amount of credits assigned depending on how much effort you have to put into it.

By far, the most important subject is workshop, taking up 24 credits by itself every semester. Our first assignment was to come up with a project that had a specific propose and usage, which had to be built with scaffolds as the main constructive element. The idea was to actually build said project, so we had to work in smaller teams before the construction.

[size=12pt]Along the way many projects came up, and in the end 8 projects were the contestants to be built. Orion is the one which ended up being the “winner”, so this past weekend all the students of my workshop had to build up this beast.

[size=12pt]The construction took two days from start to finish, however, we brought some parts already finished from college, for example, the “furniture” made of pallets were done the week previous to the weekend, so were the wooden frames with the white fabric (It’s a plastic fabric, similar to that used in sunshades).
Obviously we had to do those things ourselves too.

[size=12pt]And here are a few pictures of the finished build.

[size=12pt]As you can see, it’s basically a roof which divides into two small wings, as the plaza has a big monument in the other end, it has a few swings and some benches with tables made of pallets. It’s fairly simple, yet has a little something to it (Maybe it’s my bias after working into this project for ~5 weeks).

Still, I wanted to share this, idk why, but, hey, I thought you guys might like it.

I think it looks cool when its lit up in the night like that, got its own pazazz :o

Roison, you and your team did a great job on your project. The shaded walkway looks fascinating when lit up at night.

Looks weird and cool at the same time.
