2016 GCSE Results Day

GCE stands for General Certificate of Education. GCEs are more commonly known as A Levels. They are normally taken at age 17-18. These are the qualifications which can get you a place at university.
GCSE stands for General Certificate of Secondary Education. They are a lesser qualification than A Levels. They are normally taken at age 15-16.

Whoops, should have mentioned that GCE stands for General Cambridge Examinations, (“O” levels). Do they have that in the UK, or am I confused? They are taken at age 15-16.

I’m pretty sure Britain used to do the O Levels exams as my parents said they did them but now we have a new exam system which is the GCSE’s. So I guess your country never updated to GCSE’s like we did.

Turns out you were right!

The education systems of current and former British territories, such as Gibraltar,[sup][1][/sup] and Nigeria, also offer the qualification, as supplied by the same examination boards. Other former British colonies, such as Singapore and Zimbabwe, continue to use the O-level qualification.
Thanks for the explanation :)

You speak truth, completely right… How dare you speak of it that way…
