I have never made an introduction thread, at least I don’t think I have. But let’s start it with some information about me. I made this thread because some people have never seen me before and I figure it proper to introduce myself to our many new members.
Many of you already know me as I joined this server’s community back when it was still just a Classic server on the official Minecraft website. As time went on, I was promoted twice through my activity and trustworthiness and became what I consider to be the ‘official Senior Operator’ for the place. Also the ONLY Senior Operator for the longest time. Here’s a fun fact for many of you, I’m even the one who coined the term “Senior Operator” for my rank. It was previously known as Super Operator but because I felt it was a silly name for a rank, I changed it and it caught on.
For those that don’t know me, I’m a pretty straightforward person. I don’t cut corners and I don’t hide what I think of a situation or a person unless my job calls for it. I’m the person who wrote the Terms of Services (I bet no one’s read it) so I know the rules quite well. I do a lot of behind the scenes work involving rules and whatnot to make this place more enjoyable for the players. I will help anyone who asks for it nicely and I like to think I’m both the most laid back person and the most serious staff member on this team. One moment I’m spamming a couple lines of lyrics from a song I’m listening to, the next I’m breaking up an argument and punishing those that cross the line.
Every server needs to have ‘that one asshole’ and I happen to be him. Nice to meet you.
[size=1em]Also as a bonus, I’ll make this one of those “Ask me questions” threads that was popular on another forum I used to visit. Ask me a question and I’ll answer honestly and to the best of my knowledge/ability.
Interesting read, nice to see some actual information rather than just “lol hi I’m new” (not that there’s anything wrong with those threads, its nice to greet the new players).
So, welcome to Project City Build, Andrew/NekTM! I hope you enjoy your time here.
Tough question as I’m not entirely sure what you’re asking. If you’re referring to a Franchise of games, then I would have to say Final Fantasy. The entire franchise has a wide array of RPG games with different styles in each one. The numbered games usually having turn-based and/or Active Time Bars, the spin-off games like Tactics having Strategy, then games like Crisis Core and Dissidia having Action and Fighting genres. I can’t really think of any other franchise with such a wide variety of genres surrounding RPG.
All that and the fact I grew up with Final Fantasy so it’s a major nostalgia-factor for me.
It’s also my favorite game of all time. I attribute that mostly to nostalgia because when I was about 10 years old I used to use a chat program called ‘The Palace’. This chat had different servers and each server usually had different themes. One server was called Balamb Garden and it was filled with all sorts of things Final Fantasy related, mostly 7 and 8. Backgrounds for chat rooms were Final Fantasy screenshots, there were ‘avatar’ rooms where you could change your wearable picture to some characters from FF7 and FF8. I was so fascinated by it and it all looked really cool at the time. I then started seeing commercials for Final Fantasy 9 on TV and I easily knew what was going on my birthday list. (It released 2 days before my birthday).
Got the game and I loved it to death, even though at the time I couldn’t get past disc 1 because the last boss on it was beating me so bad and I couldn’t get passed him.
I still have the game too after all these years, it’s sitting on my shelf. I played it last year and got to disc 4 before I stopped due to circumstances. Mainly didn’t have time to finish it. I usually dust it off once every couple years and play through it start to finish.
