I think we should completely start over, new seed and everything. Nothing be brought back at all, no items, but maybe money. This would make things fun again :smiley:

I donā€™t believe making a blank slate will make the game any different. Even in our current map, we could move the spawn point to an untouched area and have the same effect.

The main reason we are redoing the map is for the 1.8 features to all be present. I see no other benefit from a complete wipe.

Can we hear any arguments as to why towns should not be copied over? What negative effect does that incur?

Thereā€™s a lot of fantastic ideas in here. Personally in terms of items, I believe either your inventory and/or one double chest should be transferred over.

The only problem I see as to towns being transferred over is that there are chests full of items in them still. With that, some might be able to sneak items across - though a simple World Edit wipe of chests would probably fix that issue.

I think only towns that took a great amount of time and resources built should be brought over (EX. Big city). Only though if the owner of the city wants it to. It would also be nice to start over with a new seed because the current seed is just boring now. I personally have a lot of ideas of what to build but cant really find the right place to build them. Im hoping that we do get a new seed and try to start over, bring only a few things along and have fun by making and trying out new things.

Maybe make a giant, ironblock/glowstone/glass TIME TRAVEL POD and everybody gets a room and we copy the TIME TRAVEL POD over but nothing else.

Right, 1.8 is right around the corner. Latest estimate is 12th September. When we get into 1.8, i would really like to see some truly amazing builds such as the ones shown in this video:

I think we can become the BEST server if we really step up our game with the stuff for show to guests that make them go WOW as soon as they join.
