Xbox wins in better online.
PS3 wins in better exclusives.
But I much prefer my Xbox over my PS3. The controller feels better in my hands and the triggers are actual triggers. It’s tough to play FPS games on the PS3 with those shitty shoulder buttons. It’s really better for action-adventure games.
But the place where the 360 shines the most is online. People argue that PS3 has free online, but they forget that it doesn’t have proper online support like Xbox. You get what you pay for, and you’re paying for a superior online experience. Press the guide button, open friends list, one button press and you’re instantly in a party while sending your friend an invite, with up to 8-10 (I forget) people in the same room talking.
PS3 shines in its amazing list of exclusives. Nearly a game for every type of person. 3D Dot Game Heroes for the RPG fans who love Zelda games. Heavy Rain for those who want an incredible story. Killzone for the FPS lovers. Little Big Planet for the platformer gamers. Demons Souls for those who want a challenge. Uncharted for the action/adventure crowd who want a great story to match great gameplay. Valkyria Chronicles for the strategists.

I’m ignoring the PC crowd because most of them are asshole elitists who can’t get over themselves. A PC gamer with an open mind is very uncommon from what I’ve seen.
PC gaming CAN be superior, but the amount of time and effort it takes to ensure your PC is up-to-spec to play that big game just isn’t worth it to those with little time on their hands. With a console, you just pop the disc in and it works.
I would love to play certain games on my PC, but I just can’t be bothered to go through the effort of ensuring my PC can play it.
