Once I had swine flu, which was REALLY shitty. I seemed to get it particularly badly. I slept for almost 12 hours, the whole time in this ridiculously complicated lucid dream, where every noise I heard from outside was hideously loud. I then woke up and had no idea who anybody was, or where I was. AND THEN! I had the fun of that TamiFlu stuff. I chucked it up within about two minutes, so the doctor said to stop taking it, which honestly made it worse. I couldn’t move quickly or I’d be sick. I was off school for two weeks (and missed the end of year trip to the zoo :’( )
Let’s see…had pneumonia 5 times before I even entered Kindergarten, which has left me with severe asthma for the rest of my life. While getting diagnosed with asthma got tested for allergies, found out I’m very much allergic to all manner of nuts and beans, thankfully only if I ingest them. I generally come down with an infection once a year (Have an ear infection at the moment actually). I have a tendency to have random migraines of varying strength, which combined with having low blood sugar leaves with the wonderful personality you generally see me have. On the bright side I haven’t broken anything yet.
Well, not quite a sickness, but I have a few stories.
In kindergarden, I bent my right collarbone “clavicle” when a very large special kid decided to copy my forward slide. On top of me. A body slam essentially. This injury left me in a sling for a month or so. This is the least of the three.
The next takes place in High School. PE class playing flag football. I was passed the ball from a long throw and I caught it. Yay me right? Well, not 3 seconds later, I get body slammed by a guy twice my weight. This time, my LEFT COLLARBONE broke. This was real pain compared to before. Especially when I tried to sleep… I also could not keep food or medicine down it seemed.
My worst? Fleas. Yes, those tiny insects that stick to pets. Yeah… my house was infested with them for a few months. In the span of a few days, I had gained over 300 flea bites. About 50 per limb and 100 or so on the torso. Did I mention this made me discover my light allergy to flea bites? Almost all of the bites were painful, full of pus, and also itched like hell. So, seeing as these were even on the bottoms of my feet, you might imagine how life was hell.
Again, sorry these were not exactly illnesses, but I figure you might like the story anyway.
Well this one time I ate Brussels sprouts- lets just say I’ve never recovered from that. Also, I seem to have a really good immune system and luck. And a boring life.
