Now Fili, (and some others) have given me problems as well. Stuff like invading my builds with signs, and making offenseve jokes (Fili was joking around saying he built a penis on my server ]’=). I’ve had these problems on Classic too, (I had to ban one user cuz he was briefing AND randomly bringing up random stiff like saying “SEX PORN!!!” and stuff like that) and I hate it as much as drk! Maybe we could set up some sort of cuss block, like replacing cuss words with “****” except for damn. (Also blocking words like porn and sex)

I agree that the server convo’s get out of hand. Personally, I just step out when that kind of stuff happens, but I understand how others could be offended by it. If we plan on being an open server, than we need to watch what we say :\
Also, I think we should implement some sort of rulings along the lines of “Conversations must stay at a level appropriate for younger players,” because while on one end we shouldn’t have to completely censor our conversation to appease everyone, but on the other hand we shouldn’t be talking about things that we wouldn’t want kids’ parents to see.
Wow… just… wow. I had no idea this was going on. :o When i op and came on frequently, conversations never got THAT bad. maybe it was just SMP… but I cant really do much… sorry drk. This shouldnt have happened to you. But im glad you decided to stay.

Our current rule is mild use of indirect swearing allowed. Anything excessive will have consequences. However, players should take note of this rule before saying ‘Name swore, ban him please!’ or even something as simple as ‘Don’t swear please I don’t like it’. It is allowed. I hate to say it, but if it offends you, you may want to find another server to play on.
Or at the very least, if it’s that offensive to you can simply use /ignore
Ok, even when Using the ./ignore command it bugged me because they would change my nickname around a lot. And pretend to be me. That was just annoying, not what made me want to quit PCB. The excessive talk about porn and $ex ticked me off. I honestly don’t remember all the members talking about it (sorry :-[ ). But I really didn’t like it. At that time I did not know about the ./ignore command and (after I knew about it)I didn’t really want to ignore everybody because then it would be like playing Singleplayer with a bunch of mute AI’s.
DRK, I am quite sorry to hear about this. After our last incident with nicknames I imagine that this sort of thing shouldn’t happen but did. Most of us are quite nice but sometimes get out of hand. I am sorry again if by any reason I have offended you.

Apologies for my late response on this. I’ve been in Belgium without a laptop or anything for the past four days. (Visit with school, looking at memorials and battlefields from WWI and such). Seems most of what I would say has already been said anyway.
On behalf of the staff, sorry for what has happened here drk, it should not have happened.
This is going to be a bit of a ramble, just putting points down as I think of them.
A joke is fine, as is indirect swearing. However, if a player is bothered by it, tone it down a little maybe?
The main thing I wanted to say is that now we have gone public, we will start being a lot more strict on staff in regards to behaviour and attitude. Applications will need to be assessed better also. If a member of staff is bothering a player, trolling to the point where the joke becomes offensive, not doing their job etc, they will be warned. If it continues they will be demoted. If the incident was quite serious, they may not be warned first.

this is rediculous to say the least, that anything should come to this, general horse play is ok you guys, but be grown up about it. if you can hold yourself up as a staff member, then you shouldn’t be one. Our staff is the backbone of who we are as a server. we have no reason to do anything of this sort at all. if we as a staff collective cannot behave, who the hell thinks the new members will do any better?
Im quite sure that’s not 100% true. I remember you saying “I’m ignoring fili and nick” I’m not sure which ‘Nick’ but you wouldn’t respond to me. You probably did know about the /ignore command. I’m sorry but I believe that is false. Ask fili abiut it.
