I don’t comment on ban appeals often, if at all, but having dealt rather extensively with this individual in the past two days, I feel that I qualify as an “involved party”. In retrospect, this post is somewhat worded as a rant, as much of my frustration is hard to vent into a chat box with limited input length and constant replies. Also, I realize that I should have posted much of what is below in the player reports section of the forum rather than put up with it blindly. Please bear with me.
To expand off of what Panda said, he was not expanding his own town; rather he was expanding someone else’s town (Acra City), and he was doing so, to the extent of my knowledge on the situation, without any consent whatsoever.
At first, I tried to ask him to stop, simply because I had been approved to work on a gradual, smooth expansion of Acra City towards Empire. Yoshio from Acra and Jacob from Empire had approved an interconnecting highway, among other things.
Initially, when I saw the poorly executed expansion, I asked him to stop, but he rather stubbornly refused, and I recall that staff were either AFK or offline, so I figured that since I was going to help expand Acra at some point, I may as well let him help - thus, I worked to at least renovate the expanded area into the Acra City style in terms of roads, signage, etc. At this point, the expansion was still far away enough from Empire for any issues to ensue - it was still out of visual range. I told him to stop expanding eastward (towards Empire), but he didn’t reply. I figured he took the warning to heart, and, after finishing the cleanup, I logged off.
The next time I logged on, I discovered that he had expanded the highway to within ~200 blocks of one of Empire’s suburbs, Lobosa, and that he had expanded another road to the point of a connection with roads in Lobosa. I told him that this wasn’t allowed and that he needed to demolish parts of what he had built. He quite vehemently refused. This is probably the point at which I should have sought staff help, but I figured that the situation was already complicated enough to the point that I would have to spend a lot of time explaining the situation over chat while he was still online, or post in the player reports section and have the staff wait for him to come back online to question him about it further.
And thus, I tried my best to clean up the subpar road connections, and left once again. Things only went downhill from here: the next time I returned, I was quite upset to find that he had started building an international airport within 100 blocks of the western fringe of downtown Empire. I once again warned him that it was way too close, and he responded by lining the boundary with magenta wool. At this point, I was pretty fed up with him, and I /mailed @Abbykia (mayor/some management position of Empire) and @YoshioTanabe (co-mayor of Acra).
Abbykia later replied, expressing similar sentiments. I have yet to even hear back from Yoshio regarding the situation.
As someone who is quite invested in the development of the area between Acra and Empire, it’s somewhat reassuring to see GodTheFarted go.
